In 1863 Charles Baker bought the land on which The Glen Hotel stands today. He was granted a publican's license on 12 December 1865, and Bakers Hotel was officially opened for trade. In 1875 when Cobb & Co. Coaches established a change-station on their daily route from Brisbane to Southport, the hotel took on a new life, providing hot meals, cold ale, and sweet delicious treats for the long road t
