After nearly 7 years, I am finally walking out the door for the very last time, making way for someone else's bright new venture.
Thank you to all my beautiful staff and customers over the years who have helped to shape me both professionally and personally and make me a staple in Birdwood.
Thank you also to my 2 beautiful daughters Riannah and Tilly for the extras along the way, helping to keep my sanity intact.
Today as I lock up for the last time, grief is finally setting in.

Once again, I'm here tidying up some loose ends for a couple of hours. I have some drinks to go come pick up some freebies before my electricity is turned off.

As we near the end, we would like to take the time to thank our town of Birdwood and the local surrounding towns for all your support.
The past 6 and a half years have been a whirlwind of hard work, tears, laughter, some more tears....hey, just a lot of damn emotion.
We would not have survived without our loyal locals. There are way too many to mention, but you have all played your part.
I have met a lot of influential people through the business, and have learnt a lot about small town culture. Thank you to the many local businesses who have supported and complimented us, and who have helped out with everything from eftpos paper rolls to gas bottles on a busy Friday night. Also the locals who have jumped in and helped with everything from gardening to decor, and even a few who have lent a shoulder for a tear or two or an ear for frustration.
We have certainly met some beautiful people who I will never forget who will be greatly missed.

So, Friday the 13th will be our last day of trading. We are not sure how this week will pan out, as we will be running stock down, but still plan to have Friday night Takeaway.
After shift, my staff and I will hit the Birdy pub for a round or two. We would be more than happy to share the bar with our locals for a last goodbye.

We are at the end of an era.
While we are still on the lookout for a buyer, we have decided to close our doors at Blumberg as we have future employment in our sights.
No specific date has been set, but it looks like mid February will be the time.
We are leaving our emotion aside for the time being, it is business as usual here until the time gets closer.
Make sure you get in for your dose of chips or one of the world's best donuts over the next few weeks before it's too late.
We will keep you all updated.
