In 1954, four generations ago, Bertalli’s Bakery began delivering to what was then S.E Dickson’s in Benalla – the store that would become Coles and servicing 150 stores in Victoria.
After 72 years of proud service, Coles have decided in their wisdom to remove Alpine Breads from all 150 of their Victorian stores. We remain as passionate and committed as ever to bringing quality bread to Victoria.
Alpine Breads remains available in Woolworths and Ritchies IGA stores throughout Victoria, and we are proud to continue growing alongside retailers who share our passion for quality local produce.
If you are having trouble finding our breads, please speak with our bakery managers.

Hi there, I just wanted to reach out and say thankyou.
I bought your low carb bread last week because I am in early stage kidney failure, being diabetic. I've looked for a bread for ages that was genuinely low carb, and yours was it. It tastes wonderful and I'm going to spread the word. Now I can have 2 slices instead of 1. . Most bakeries claim they're low carb, but their bread is maybe 5% lower than ordinary bread. Thankyou again for making a truly great product.

Apprentice Baker and Bakery hand (day shift)
Full time and Part time
We are currently seeking an Apprentice Baker and bakery hand to join our Bakery team in Benalla.
As an Apprentice Baker, you will receive on-going training and development, and the opportunity to work as part of a winning team.
Bertalli’s Alpine Breads operates Monday to Friday. Our production team starting hours are between 6.00am and 10.00am.
Your key roles and responsibilities will include:
Producing great tasting breads, Rolls, Sour Dough, Pies, Pastie and sausage rolls. Working with other Bakers and the Production Manager to ensure a high standard of the product quality and range is achieved
Excellent organisational and communication skills to ensure product is delivered on time to meet customer demands
Achieving a high standard of cleanliness
Maintain a high level of safety
Supporting other team members and foster good working relationships
Bertalli’s bakery was established in 1931, that’s 92 years.
