Bees are essential to farmers markets because they pollinate the fruits, vegetables, and flowers that local growers depend on for healthy harvests.
Here’s how we're celebrating:
💛 Wear yellow to show your support for bees and their importance in the production of food – wear a yellow accessory, go head-to-toe yellow, or dress up your dog in something yellow!
🏨🐝 Join the FREE bee hotel workshop with Jacki Irwin – a fun, drop-in workshop where you can build your own bee hotel, and learn more about native bees and how to make your own gardens more bee-friendly.
🎨 🐝 View creative bee colouring in by students from Talbot Primary School at the TFM marquee!
🍯 Visit G’s Bees to get your local honey, bee pollen, and associated items while supporting a local beekeeper.
🌼🌿 Chat to the knowledgeable plant sellers at Green Gate Garden and Stavros Plants about plants to help attract more bees to your garden. Bees add important biodiversity to urban and rural gardens!
🎁🐝 Visit Playing in the Attic - buy cute, bee-themed items to gift bee-loving friends - also, see if you can spot the honey-themed work in the One Hundred Faces exhibition in the shop window!
🍯 Visit Fossicker’s Fine Foods and Eatery – you’ll find Enbom Honey and beautiful, handcrafted honey-related accessories and handmade beeswax candles. Book ahead for lunch, or pick up one of their honey-inspired market takeaway specials – stay tuned for more details this week.
