Sweater update. After I finished the main part of the body for this I shoved it in the ‘I don’t like it pile’ because, well, I didn’t like it. But I forced myself to pull it back out again and crochet the vertical stripes on and it might just be growing on me. I started the sleeve today - it’s not perfect, but neither is any of the rest of the jumper 😂 there’s a lot of ‘oh well… it’ll work’ moments in there.

Jumper update. I’m not loving it 😏 my colour choices aren’t bright enough. I can’t help but compare the colours to the original pattern choices 🙄
I’ve also made it a touch too long - I normally extend the length of everything because I’m tall, but this time I don’t think it was necessary. I couldn’t try it on properly until it was cast off so had to guess the length (yes I could’ve used a tape measure… or even measured it against a jumper I already have but you know 🤷🏻‍♀️) I also tried it on with a pair of trackpants in the middle of the night once I’d finished it, so maybe it’ll look better once it’s blocked and paired with some nicer pants!
The next step is to crochet some vertical lines, I’m hoping this will brighten it up. But right now it’s in the ‘meh’ pile while I stew over it for a bit!

Did I enjoy making them? Yes
Will I ever make 2 identical blankets simultaneously again? Definitely not.
Did weaving in 1000s of ends make my cry? Possibly 🤪
Will my boys love them? They better! Just kidding… kinda… nah, they will love them.

I normally only crochet at night, when the kids are in bed, but in the past couple of weeks I’ve been trying to slow down during the day and take time to sit and work on some things. We’ve had a rough start to 2023 and it’s made me realise the importance of making time for things that make me happy!

My Cruise Goodie Bag!

I have been not-so-patiently waiting to share this with you, I made a promise to the Unwind ladies that I would wait until they had left the port on their cruise to New Zealand. Kate and Robyn have outdone themselves this time!

I am blown away by how much cool stuff is in here, including 4 projects worth of yarn (and a little extra), a beautiful iPad stand from and a whole lot of other bits and pieces that will make yarn lovers swoon.

The mini skeins were hand dyed by Robyn herself, and the sock yarn is a special Unwind colour way! I’ll be adding sock knitting to my to do list very soon!

The goodie bags are a part of the package when you cruise with Unwind and they are always incredible. Sometimes they put together a few extra bags for non-cruisers to purchase and they are always worth it. And then sometimes, if you’re the sister-in-law of one of the shop owners, you can convince them to make an extra one just for you! 😆

I’m getting sick of these rainbow blankets tbh. Never again will I make 2 identical blankets simultaneously!! There’s still 2.5 strips to go on each, plus the borders. I’m hoping to have them ready to go under the Christmas tree 🎄

Does anyone else get Project Packing Panic?
At home I’ve been working on 2, just 2, projects. I’m going away for 7 days with 3 kids on my own and here are the 6 projects that I want to take 🤪
It’s almost guaranteed I will only work on the same 2 that I’ve been doing recently, but what if I get bored of them and want a change? What if I finish one and need to start another one? Hahaha what a joke, me and 3 kids, in a caravan, with a forecast of rain for the week… I wonder if I’ll get the chance to do anything at all?! 😂
