I'm Stef, I'm a mother of 3 (1 no longer earthside) and love working for myself. inspired by Ka

yla, you will be dealing directly with me. Inspired by Kayla is a very personal name for both myself and my family, it means so much more than just a business name.. Kayla is our beautiful little girl, who passed away in November 2011 at age 4, due to complications of her cancer treatment. Kayla was a very brave, determined and happy little girl, she used to love being by my side and helping as much as possible whenever I was in the kitchen, and in particular when I was making cakes.. She loved the idea of mummy having a business making cakes so then she could help! Kayla is my inspiration in life, and the biggest inspiration in my baking (since her 1st birthday cake was my very first custom cake!)

To coincide with Kayla’s 14-year anniversary, we felt this was the most meaningful time to begin Kayla's sister (Kira's) fundraiser.

Recently, Kira made the heartfelt decision to donate a large portion of her hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. She’ll be cutting approximately 25–30cm — bringing her hair above her waist for the first time in her life!

As many of you know, cancer has already taken far too much from our family. And now, someone very close to Kira is bravely beginning their fight right before her eyes. She never got to meet her big sister, but has always felt the loss.

Kira’s goal is to raise $1000 before December 18th, the day she makes the big cut.

Please consider donating and helping her make a difference for those facing the hardest battles.

Fourteen years today.
Fourteen years of remembering, of wondering about all the what ifs, and feeling the weight of a life that should have been filled with milestones, laughter, and moments we never got to see.

People often say that time heals, but some losses are felt in every sunrise, every quiet moment, every unexpected reminder. Time doesn’t erase love, and it doesn’t soften the longing for what could have been.

Today we honour Kayla — our little girl who left a big imprint on so many hearts, even in her short time here. Her memory continues to guide our family and remind us of the importance of love, connection, and cherishing every moment.
And in a special way, her life lives on in every cake we make — each one a small tribute to the joy, sweetness, and love she brought into the world.

There isn’t a day she isn’t thought of.
Fourteen years have passed, but her presence is still deeply felt.
