✨ Falling For You ✨
A little love story brought to life 🤍

The theme was “Small Wedding Cake”.
I wanted to create a cake that told a little love story, so I decided to take the theme quite literally! 😂

The tiny sugar figures, quilted tiers and little wedding accessories made out of fondant and gelatine, all came together to create this romantic scene.

Although I didn’t win this year, I’m still so proud of this cake. Sometimes you don’t need a trophy to know you’ve created something you’re proud of 🫶

Here is my entry for this year’s Royal Adelaide Show cake decorating competition, with the theme “Small Wedding Cake” 💍🎂

The idea behind my design was a fun little wedding moment: a bride literally falling for her groom (but she is also under the influence of alcohol 😂) while he tries his best to catch her! The ch*****ne bucket on top and the little details around the cake were added to bring the celebration to life🥂

One of the biggest challenges for me was making the bride and groom figurines, as creating human figures is definitely outside my comfort zone! It was a challenge, but I really enjoyed pushing myself to try something different and learning along the way.

Unfortunately, my cake didn’t place this year, but I’m still grateful for the opportunity to create, compete and showcase the creativity God has given me🙏🏻❤️

When I arrived to deliver this little wedding cake, I had a moment of, “Wait… am I at the right wedding?” 😂

The reception venue, Donato Reception Centre was absolutely beautiful, with elegant white and green floral styling, then… I saw my little red heart cake sitting there, covered in red and ivory piping, delicate bows and cherries on top, exactly as the bride had requested 🍒🍒🍒

But you know what?! It’s actually not a bad idea at all. I loved the contrast! A tiny heart cake making its own statement in such a grand and elegant setting, while reflecting the couple’s own personal style ❤️

And the little heart cake wasn’t the only thing I delivered! I also brought along two large slabs of dark and white mud cake with berries and ganache fillings, which were to be cut in the kitchen and served as dessert to the guests. And let me tell you… those slabs were HEAVY! 😂 Thankfully, my hubby came along with some muscles to help with the delivery 💪🏻🤣😍

Green Tea Cake for a special Half-Century Birthday 💚✨🤍🎂

This one was extra special because it was made for my husband’s 50th birthday 🥂✨

I wanted to make something that felt a little different from the usual birthday cake - elegant, fresh, and something we would both really enjoy. So I went with one of his favourite flavour combinations: matcha + fresh strawberries 🍵🍓

The beautiful matcha flavour came from the special matcha green tea cake recipe by , paired with her matcha diplomat cream 💚 The combination was absolutely delicious, light, creamy, fragrant and not overly sweet, with the fresh strawberries adding just the right amount of freshness. Unfortunately mine came out a little too runny as I didn’t add enough gelatine 😂🫣 but let me tell you it tasted soooo good 🤤🤤🤤
