Meet the face behind the brand

Hi I'm Candice Stacey Yon, the face behind the whatsapp auto response, the voice on the other end of the line, and the logo that you've been seeing a lot of lately.

I studied Bcom.
Achieved my Natal Colours in Cricket at 13 years old.
I'm a former Miss Teen India SA & Model.

But life leads you onto a path you never imagined for yourself!

My favorite title is self-taught baker and Artisanal Sweetmeat Creator. Yes, we are a 1-woman-band.

With no formal training, nor being in a baking environment or a household that made sweetmeats, my journey began with a blank canvas, make that burfee, and a colourful imagination, passion, and determination to become successful - being the first member of my family that ventured into the "businesss" world.

I went through the moments of "make this work" because at times that was the only choice!! From caketastrophes to learning those hard lessons in customer relations, my journey has led me to some of the proudest yet humbling moments of my life, like being a semi finalist on The Great South African Bake Off in 2023.

My heart overflows with gratitude to my clients as well as to that young lady achieving her dreams - for challenging herself, late nights, little to no sleep, deadlines, and a sense of accomplishment!

We don't post on social media as often as we ought to (we are working on this, being a mom of 3 boys & Sports Coach to more than 250 kids).

So here's the first step to introducing the face behind those absolutely elegant Burfee Truffles and the one who created "Burfeesicles"

Created the most beautiful Italian Amalfi tile cake this weekend for a bridal shower.

I also pushed myself to learn French pastry techniques (first try) & I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome.

Lemoncello cake sponge, Lemon curd filling swirls, Swiss meringue buttercream, whitw chocolate ganache outer, edible tile print.

Lemon Entremet's, whipped chocolate mousse, lemon curd centre's (because instead of life throwing you lemons, we decided to throw life some lèmons!!!), coated in chocolate, airbrushed with lemon paste and bejeweled with lemon leaves.

Everything on this cake was edible

At Icandy Events by CSY, we pride ourselves in creating unique masterpieces. Yes we ask for your inspo pics, but we add a little bit of "us" to it.
