LDW Cupcakes I absolutely love baking. It gives me the opportunity to explore my creative side and experiment with different flavours and designs

LDW cupcakes was started by myself, Lynne de Welzen, in August 2014. I absolutely love baking and decided to start a small business on the side to help support me while doing my studies. I started off with only baking and providing cupcakes for small events and occasions and in 2017 decided to branch out into cakes as well. I am a self-taught baker and have really enjoyed taking on different chall

enges and learning new techniques and skills. I treat every order with the utmost respect and therefore take time to plan and execute every order as best as I can. Terms and Conditions:

- Cupcake orders: Orders need to be finalised and paid for in full (50% deposit + 50% balance) at least 7 days prior to when needed. Maximum orders of 48 cupcakes accepted, unless a special request is made at least 30 days prior to when needed.
- Cancellations need to be made at least 48 hours before the date of the order for the 50% balance to be refunded.

- Cake orders: Orders need to be finalised and paid for in full (50% deposit + 50% balance) at least 14 days prior to when needed. Cancellations need to be made at least 7 days before the date of the order for the 50% balance to be refunded.

- Prices are subject to change and the product list can be updated at any given time

- LDW Cupcakes works on a bake-to-order basis. Products are therefore made fresh for every order, and are not targeted at being a product with a long shelf life.

- Products produced by LDW Cupcakes are not intended for resale under any circumstances whatsoever.

- LDW Cupcakes produces products that contain nuts, and can therefore not guarantee that all traces of nuts have been removed.

– LDW Cupcakes will strive to take on every request that is made, there may however be the odd occasion where a request may not be met. Delivery:

- LDW Cupcakes is based in Cowies Hilll, Westville. Free delivery within a 5km radius, thereafter R 2.50 charged per km. Travel distance will include TO and FROM the delivery address

- If you choose to collect your order, LDW cupcakes will not be held responsible for any damages incurred due to travel/placement of the order, once it is collected.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce the closure of my business until further notice.

I started my baking business way back in August 2014 whilst I was studying, and through the support of many loved ones and friends around me, this business has become bigger than I ever imagined. I have been challenged and brought to tears, I have lost countless hours of sleep, I have delivered cakes (with much needed assistance from my family) to remote places, and have had a few crises - (like melting cakes in the heat). This however, and my fellow bakers can attest to this, is part of having a business of this kind and even though there have been stressful times, I have still loved each and every order in its own way, and have met some wonderful people.

For those of you who know me very well, this year has been an extremely difficult one for me. I started my teaching career this year and quickly realised just how much time the job demands. A few months ago, I started to limit the numbers of orders that I took on, hoping that it would ease the stress, but unfortunately I have really struggled. I am taking on many more responsibilities next year and also have a few other personal goals which will require more of my time. I therefore decided that the best thing for me would be to close my business.

Please know that this has been an extremely difficult decision for me and I really am truly sorry to my very loyal customers, some who have been supporting me from the beginning.

Please do not leave this page as there are a few orders which I am still finishing off with. I will also keep you updated on when I intend to start up my business again (potentially July 2020).... so watch this space :)
