Letās talk about āThe Shiftā
On Friday evening I said to my kids that we will have a horror movie marathon which we use to do often but rarely get to these days. My load was light & I felt I needed to spend the additional time with them.
When the movie started though I hadnāt finished baking an order yet & needed to quickly complete that which I did & then sat to watch with them, by the 2nd movie I fell asleep. When I woke up I realized my son was still watching (the one who said he didnāt want to partake coz we never stay til the end)- anyway I said to him Iām super tired, Iām going to bed & weāll continue the next day.
He said āJa rightā, you didnāt even watch the 1st movie properly coz you were working - but Iām going to stay up & watch.
What is āThe Shiftā?
The shift is that I realized my family no longer say āyou were bakingā - they say āyou were workingā or āare you going to work todayā or āwill you be working lateā & somehow until right then it didnāt click to me š
Iām still struggling with the mindset of unemployed vs self employed & all the while my childrenās mindset have fully moved to āmy mother is a business ownerā - Iām out here with āIām a bakerā mentality.
So this is your reminder to take some time out today to recognize & appreciate how far youāve come coz even though you might not see it yet - you are living in answered prayers š
