Message: Identity In Christ

Genesis 1:26-27
[26]Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
[27]So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

God created men in His own image. We represent the image of God.The name of Jesus is the restoration of the image of God in our lives. Cultivate the confidence that you are the image of God.The best way to relate with God is to understand that He is your father.

Psalms 139:13-16
Never doubt that you are perfect because you were made in the name of God. We were created to be a reflection of His image.When God sees us, He sees His excellence and glory.

Psalms 50:2
We are complete in God.
God expresses the perfection of beauty through His people. He sees His image when He looks at us.

1. Express or manifest God's light.You are the light. Reflect His light. Matthew 5:14-15

2. Walk in His light.
Walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:8-13

How to walk in the light?
1. Through your identity is Christ
2. Through the light of the Word.

Message: Identity in Christ

Genesis 1:26-27

Part of our identity in Christ is knowing that we are the image of God.
We are the true replica of God. Image - emagode
It means the image of God. Jesus is the picture and reminder of who we are in God.

Four ways we worship God:
1. Through our bodies
2. Through songs
3. Through Offerings
4. Work

Colossians 1:15-19
God is pleased that the fullness of Christ is in Him. For us to know and relate with God, we have to see Jesus.He is the image of the invisible God.Christ is the first place in all things.

Hebrews 1:3
Jesus is the exact expression of the image of God. He upholds all things by the word of His power.

Message : Identity in Christ

Our primary identity is in Christ.

God's word gives us our true identity. It means we can only be defined by the Word of God.

1 Peter 1:23-25
[23]having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
[24]because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,
[25]But the word of the Lord endures forever.” Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

The above scripture is a clear picture of who we are. We are born of the Word of God.
Our identity in Christ will remain forever. By His own will. When you know who you are, you have found your place in Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:18
Behold yourself.
Look intently into the mirror of the Word.
Do not take the image of your circumstances.
Look into the word of God and continue to do so. Do not look away from the Word of God.

We should continue to see ourselves in the eyes of God. We are what God says we are and nothing less than that.

Message: Identity In Christ.

Matthew 16:13-17
[13]When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
[14]So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
[15]He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
[16]Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
[17]Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven."

To know who you are is to know your power.
When you have discovered who Jesus is, you have discovered who you are.It was by revelation that Peter knew who Jesus was. Jesus is the Light of life, it is His identity.

Basis for our Personal Identity

1. Christ is our primary identity.
2. It is found in God's providence of your life.God is the one who decides your identity.

3. We identify with what we do.

Our primary identity is Christ. We are first Christian before we are anything. We are identified with Him in His death, burial, and ressurection.h Righteousness is our nature.
