Our Vision
A Family business, created and run by locals connecting South Africa’s playground for everyone to enjoy, by inspiring, developing and mentoring future generations of ocean warrior’s through the celebration and collaboration of our rich surfing culture and Durban’s golden mile’s heritage. By offering you a one stop shop, and a place to connect you to Durban’s beautiful beaches that continue to be the lure that attracts visitors from all over the world.
We are a core "Surf" company that aims to be much more than that. Our goal is to provide the highest quality products and services, but more than that we hope to create a home for everyone to enjoy and gain positive experiences with us. We encourage people to hang out after a surf, use our free wifi and drink coffee while you hang out with us. We are excited to create a vibe and a community that is real, honest and comfortable as an escape from the chaos of real life.
We offer a range of custom and stock surfboards from one of the best shapers and designers in the world. We have test centers for you to try our boards, surfboard / SUP rentals, board repairs, high quality apparel and accessories, for everyone to enjoy ! We have surf coaching for all levels, we can film / photograph your surfs from the land or air depending on weather, we have shaping workshops or you can shape your own board.
Our Homegrown Shaper Dan has been shaping for 26 years and has shaped with truly great shapers around the world like Terry Fitzgerald in Europe to shaping longboards with Donald Takayama, going solo in Portugal and starting DK surfboards in the UK. He has shaped boards for surfers like 3x Big Wave World Champion Grant 'Twig' Baker, Frankie Oberholzer, Beyrick De Vries, Dale Staples, Matt Pallet, Tanika Hoffman, Dave Jennings and many more. Now back where it all began in South Africa, Dan is the reason Point Surf co began and everyone that has had boards from Dan knows that the level of his shaping and quality of his boards with @sandile_solo_junior_jali as the glasser and sander is second to none.
