My mother, Gadeeja, was a remarkable woman whose kindness, generosity, and passion for baking inspired countless moments of joy. Her pies were a staple of our family gatherings, and as a child, I was fortunate enough to watch her create these masterpieces with love and care. Although she's no longer with us, having lost her battle with cancer three years ago, her memory lives on through the love and traditions she shared with our family.
A recent dream, in which she appeared with her signature warmth and a rolling pin in hand, sparked a deep longing within me to reconnect with her memory and continue her baking legacy. I felt an overwhelming urge to step into the kitchen and create something special, just as she had taught me. As I took my first bite of the pastry I had made, I was overcome with emotion, feeling a profound sense of connection to my mother and the love we shared. Through this experience, I've gained a new appreciation for the power of food to bring people together and transcend time and circumstance. And I am excited to share my mother's legacy with the world, one delicious pastry at a time.
