A customer asked for a quote for 20l scones and when I gave the quote, she was shocked and said she was expecting it to be R500. I said that's money for ingredients only.

She then continued to say she something simple, plain normal scones with milk or water. I was lost for words 😂😂. She said she will speak to her partner and get back to me😊. As bakers we know what that means right 😂.

Can we talk about the usage of gloves bathong.

I'm a Microbiologist by profession and a food safety officer. We wear gloves in the laboratory when testing food. You still need to sanitize your gloves every 10 minutes. When you move from one room to the next you must change your glove.

And as bakers, we are always catching strays. Gloves does not mean clean and does not replace hands hygiene, it's an extra protective layer.
