Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution The Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution is an organization of some 4,000 Mississippi women.

The Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution is very proud of our organization of some 4,000 Mississippi women, whose hard work and concerted efforts make a substantial, positive difference in the lives of all citizens in this state. “God, Home, and Country” is not just a motto for us, but the central theme of our lives.

On March 7th, 2026, State Regent Amelia Langford visited Fort Rosalie Chapter at Anjou in Ridgeland. She gave an overview of the 120th MSSDAR State Conference and State Regent's Project update. She also discussed ways to grow membership. The State Regent brought pictures from State Conference to share with the group! It was a great meeting reminiscing with the Chapter Regent Jennifer Miller and visiting with perspective members. We also enjoyed a tasty lunch!!

The 120th MSSDAR State Conference was held February 18-20, 2026 at the Westin Jackson. It was an exciting, commemorative event with great activities for everyone to enjoy. Daughters and Distinguished Guests delighted themselves in Martha's Tea Room, a Genealogy workshop, and Historic Preservation workshops. Daughters were informed, entertained, and immersed in American History through great speakers!

The out-of-ststate guests had a fabulous time touring the Governor's Mansion, Saint Andrew's, Eudora Welty House, and the Two Mississippi Museums. Daughters loved the new venue - Westin Jackson.

On February 14, 2026 MSSDAR participated in the Dixie National Rodeo Parade. We rode on a beautiful float! State Regent Amelia Langford and America 250! Chair Kathy Henry tossed candy, waved American Flags, and talked to parade attendees on the signing of the Declaration of Independence!! Again, MSSAR and MSSCAR collaborated with this National America 250! Event!! We won Second Place!! HOORAY!!

Mississippi Daughters, your State Regent just returned from the National Board of Management (NBOM) meetings in the mounding snowdrifts of DC. NSDAR held a Wreath Laying Ceremony honoring George Washington at the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia. The meeting was held February 5-7, 2026. We also enjoyed a tour while on location. Then back to Constitution Hall for another Wreath Laying Ceremony honoring The Crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger 40th Anniversary of Remembrance in the Kansas Chapel, NSDAR. We enjoyed State Regent's Dinner at the Winery District overlooking the Potomac as well as a beautiful banquet in the DAR Library!! Days were filled with many meetings and leadership training sessions! Your State Regent participated in the service project making Valentines cards for active military and contributed gift cards! It was an honor to represent you.

Our nation’s big birthday year has finally arrived! This milestone has been called by many names—Semiquincentennial, Bisesquicentennial, Sestercentennial, America250, or the Quarter Millennium. Whatever name one chooses, this historic moment gives us the opportunity to celebrate the greatness of our nation—a democratic republic that has endured longer than any other of its kind.

The ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Brandon Public Library on Monday, February 23, at 11:00 a.m. If you are unable to attend the ribbon cutting please visit any day through Friday, February 27. The hours are 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The exhibit consists of twelve panels arranged in thematic pairs, highlighting topics raised by the individuals featured in the exhibition. These include themes such as Choosing Sides, On the Front Lines, and Freedom or Slavery. In addition, three touchscreen displays complement the panels: one focuses on the featured individuals, another highlights places connected to their stories that can still be visited today, and a third includes animated maps showing the progression of the Revolutionary War as battles unfolded across the continent.

Walter Leake DAR in Clinton, Ms, celebrated their 50th anniversary on December 14, 2025 with an afternoon tea and open house in the home of Margarita Stanford. Regent, Connie Mills, presented a program on the history of Walter Leake and memories were shared. Chapter scrapbooks from prior years were viewed by members and they were presented with a special Christmas ornament of Walter Leake’s 50th year Special recognition was given to Mrs. C L Deevers, founding Regent and mother of current member and pasr regent Mary Jo Morrison (not pictured). Regents were presented with roses at the conclusion of the tea.

On January 10, 2026, the State Regent visited the Walter Leake Chapter, in Clinton at the beautifully restored Gore Art Department on the campus of Mississippi College. The State Regent enjoyed a program presented on Early Colonial American Art. It was most fascinating! She also enjoyed visiting with the Chapter Regent and other members.
