Have you ever tried Koldskål & Kammerjunker? 🇩🇰☀️

Koldskål is a traditional Danish summer dessert made from buttermilk, yoghurt, lemon, egg yolk and vanilla. Served chilled, it's light, refreshing, and perfect for hot days.

Kammerjunker are small, sweet, crunchy biscuits that are traditionally crushed and sprinkled over Koldskål, adding the perfect crunch to every spoonful.

I'm now taking orders for homemade Kammerjunker at just £5 per batch – enough to serve 5–6 people. 🥰

I thought it was time to properly reintroduce myself and share the story behind The Hygge Bakery.

I’m half Danish, and Denmark has always been a huge part of who I am. I lived there when I was very young, and growing up, so many of my happiest memories were made during summer trips back to visit family — long evenings, trips to the beach, fresh bread from the bakery, and of course authentic Danish Wienerbrød that never tasted quite the same anywhere else. 🇩🇰

Last December, my wife and I visited Copenhagen, and it completely reignited something in me. We spent our days wandering the city, stopping for coffee and pastries, soaking up that cosy Danish feeling of hygge.

Then we came home… and one morning while having a coffee, I found myself wishing for just one more proper Danish pastry. The flaky layers, the buttery richness, the taste that instantly transports you back to a Copenhagen bakery.

That moment became the beginning of The Hygge Bakery.
What started as a craving quickly turned into a passion project: bringing authentic Danish Wienerbrød and traditional breads to life here at home, made with the same care, craftsmanship, and comforting feeling I grew up with.

Every bake is inspired by family traditions, Danish bakery culture, and the simple joy of sharing good food with good people.

So whether you’ve been here from the beginning or you’ve only just discovered us — thank you for following along and supporting this little dream. 🤍
