I was kept very busy with this little project last week. The recipient is a keen flower arranger so we went with an edible basket of flowers in autumnal colours for her 90th birthday celebrations. The basket was hard work but so worth it for the effect!

So this kept me out of mischief all week. An old school friend contacted me to produce cakes to be given to the presenters of a TV programme called “Wheeler Dealers” at the classic car show at the NEC this weekend. They had completed a challenge to build and renovate a classic car each which were both being auctioned off at the show for charity. What else to do than create their cars, in cake!

I actually got to meet the guys and present the cakes to them personally, which was a real honour. They were very surprised and delighted with them - big sigh of relief! I didn’t know at the time but they were recording live on their FB feed, so if you find Wheeler Dealers FB page you’ll see me! A great day ❤️

All my cakes are triple layered and are a good 4 inch depth. This cake was a rich chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream and coated in a dark chocolate ganache ❤️
