I got to make my little sisters wedding cake! In North Dakota! It was a vanilla bean cake with strawberry jam and strawberries with vanilla buttercream. It was decorated with freeze dried edible flowers.

Made some macarons today, most of my shells turned out! I think I’m finally starting to get them to look good consistently. Flavors are:
🍫 Double Chocolate
🫐 Almond Blueberry
🥓 Maple Bacon
🍫 Mint Chocolate Chip
🍍Pineapple

Made some apple turnovers with some of the bushel of apples I bought from a nearby orchard. They are delicious! On a side note, my freezer is now full of apples ready to be made into pie.

Coconut Cream Pie

Had some leftover coconut from Easter and made this pie. It’s long been a favorite of my husband’s, so he was thrilled with the idea to use the leftover coconut 😄

My Christmas tart.
Even though we had to quarantine with the boys, I made a special tart for dessert. It was a custard base with a cranberry raspberry jelly topping. It was decorated with raspberries, strawberries and coconut flavored meringues.

Tried a new recipe today- Milkbar’s birthday cake. It’s got these crunchy cookie crumbs between layers and on top! A fun texture element to a layered cake that you normally don’t get. It was fun trying out something new while being stuck at home.

Strawberry Birthday Cake- a vanilla cake filled with strawberry jam and fresh strawberries. Lightly frosted in Swiss meringue buttercream (it’s my first batch to turn out!! Yay!)
