A year ago, I was asked by the father of the bride to make a wedding cake for his daughter, the future Mrs. Tasker.

Initially, I was hesitant as I was not one whom was keen on making wedding cakes as there are a lot of pressures that goes into making something for someone’s special day.

After a lot of self talk and encouragement from a good friend, I decided to give into my hesitation and do what would be my “first” wedding cake. That “first” wedding cake actually turned out to be seven cakes. All different designs, all different fIavors. I experienced so many different emotions- panic, happiness, and overwhelming amount of pressure in those few days leading up to the wedding but I wouldn’t not change it for anything.

After so many rave reviews and compliments I knew that this is what I was meant to do, have a small little part in someone’s special day even if it is just for a wedding cake. That is something they will remember for a lifetime.

One year ago today, Mr. and Mrs. Yost said “I do” in an intimate ceremony on the stunning island of the Maldives. This past week, they celebrated their love and union with their closest family and friends, marking the start of a beautiful journey together. As a special reminder of their union, the couple gifted their guests with a token of their love-personalized sugar cookies.

Happy Anniversary! Here’s to many more years of cherishing each other, making more sweet memories, and growing together!
