My love for baking started in second grade when my grandmother gave me my first cookbook, where I learned to make perfect chocolate chip cookies. Since then, I have honed and expanded my cookie-making skills. Baking is not just a hobby for me; it's also a way to express my creativity and love for my family and friends. Now, I share my love of baking with others by creating custom handcrafted sugar cookies for special events like weddings, graduations, birthdays, and holidays. A little fall garden for a birthday celebration!

When the birthday girl has quite the green thumb, flowers just have to be part of the celebration. This set for Jan brings together warm fall blooms, butterflies, and a few birthday candles to celebrate another trip around the sun.

As I’ve said before, I don’t normally do cakes—but when the opportunity to make a cake for a 90th birthday celebration came along, how could I possibly say no?

A little outside my usual cookie comfort zone, but I had so much fun bringing this one to life. And really, 90 years deserves a pretty spectacular cake!

Every cake teaches me something new, and I'm still perfecting my drop-line technique. But with three layers of vanilla cake, Nutella filling, and American buttercream, the flavors were spot on. The best way I know how to say, "Happy Birthday, Dad."

I never get tired of hearing, "Will you make my birthday cake?" Baking for my nephews makes every cake a little more meaningful. This Sweet 16 cake gave me the chance to get creative and use my favorite Italian meringue buttercream recipe—a silky frosting that's smooth and rich without being overly sweet. Inside: two layers of decadent, extra-moist chocolate cake. Made with lots of love for a very special birthday.
