Exciting news from Lazarette St. Bakeshop...we're gearing up for opening! Our soft opening will run from Wednesday, August 14th to Sunday, August 18th and again from Wednesday, August 21st to Sunday, August 25th. Join us during these times to get an early taste of our delicious menu, savor a cup of coffee made from locally roasted Buona Caffe beans, and meet our friendly staff who are eager to serve you.

Tomorrow is the day! Our menu is limited, but come in and give us a try. We will spend the soft opening getting in the groove and working out the kinks. Can’t wait to see you!
Today was busy! We had the honor of receiving barista training from John, the owner of @buonacaffe. He taught us how to pull a great shot of espresso and all the other methods for creating balanced, delicious coffee drinks for our customers. We can’t wait to have you guys try our coffee! I picked up our shirts (modeled by Corey), and we got our bread oven installed. The guys did all the heavy lifting while I fretted in the corner 😂 Two more days!
Just have a few more finishing touches to go! I had my little helper (hinderer?) with me last week in the bakery, so progress was slow but we managed to finish a lot of projects. Once the bread oven is delivered, we will be close. 🎉🎉🎉 Check out our previous post about the soft opening, and thank you for the support!
We passed our state inspection! Just a little bit more to go and we will be open. Cleaning, hiring, and getting this damn espresso machine to work. Can’t wait 🎉🎉

Putting equipment in place, connecting the espresso and ice machines, getting window decals put up, and all of the little things. One day closer!
We are so close! The goal is to be done early next week with all of the things, then it’s on to hiring and training staff. I will say, I’m quite proud of myself for the wall - it was my first time tiling and it turned out great! My brother came to visit and did an awesome job painting and laying down tile flooring in the bathroom. And of course, my little helper did a great job drawing on the tile.

My friend from Arizona came to visit, and we decided to spend a few days in Savannah. The city is beautiful! We ate a lot of delicious food, walked until our dogs were woofin’, and only experienced minimal tantrums from my little one. My favorite part about exploring new cities is of course the food, and Savannah did not disappoint. I love a good Costco trip. Although this trip didn’t involve any bakery items, it’s worth asking: does anyone follow their list at Costco? Decided to try out a cream cheese spread with espresso, but I added too much espresso. The end result was an affogato delight! Some days are just not it. This was one of them. I blame it on the eclipse. Spent a lot of the day watching TV, spent some time making a printed catering menu to hand out, and brainstormed ideas for leftover boxes - thinking I might use them as a marketing plan to connect with local businesses, or sell them with my bestsellers at upcoming markets.
