Dear customers and friends,
Curtis and my time is over at the market, as weāre moving back to Germany in a few weeks. However, I couldnāt be happier to share Dianaās European Delights post now ! Diana is a fabulous baker from Germany and her baked goods are delicious. Please get early to Yorktown Market Days this and every following Saturday, as Iām sure Diana will be sold out soon. Also you then could like her page (and leave a positive recommendation), as youāll then automatically stay updated on her weekly menu. As you definitely want to know, when sheās bringing the Swiss Walnut Cake, Sachertorte and all the other delicacies.
Curtis and I canāt be there this Saturday, but we send out our love, best wishes and warmest vibes to you and to Diana and Chris.
Best, Ulla

Menue for August 19th, my last Market Day
Dear customers and friends,
Four years ago I was fortunate enough to start one of my hardest, but also one of my most rewarding adventures in my live, when I decided to open āUllaās European Delightsā at the Williamsburg Farmers Market. You, my wonderful customers, found your way from Toano Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Newport News and Virginia Beach, as well as from DC, Maryland and North Carolina, and I canāt thank you enough for all your love and great support ! I am so familiar with your faces and I look so forward each Saturday to seeing you, I canāt imagine yet that this would change soon.
From the very beginning my family always was with me and supported me emotionally, as well as with their labor. Most importantly and certainly always on my side (except he had better things to do like playing some golf tournaments, lol) my dear husband Curtis, who you got to know as my āmoney-manā. Our daughter Antonia, whoās a great baker already since her teenage years, also shared her ideas regularly with me via facetime, as well as she was with me at my very first and some more market days in Williamsburg, as well as now on my last market days in beautiful Yorktown!
From the very beginning, you have made us feel welcome and, through your continuous support for my business, you inspired and determined me to try harder and give my very best through all the yummy and elegant cakes, which I learned from my mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Very often you have given me the chance to be part of your familiesā celebrations, business events and many other happy events. I have always found pride and satisfaction in the quality of my products and tried my very best to never disappoint your expectations and, from the amazing feedback we received from all of you over the years, we know we have met your expectations.
With Dianaās European Delights I have found another very passionate and very talented baker, who is so ready to take over and who will be continuing this sweet work and becoming part of this wonderful Yorktown Market Days community. We are very sure that youāll love her cakes as much as we do (and btw her Beesting Cake āBienenstichā is much better than mine! Who knows what else, lol)
And here is now my menu for my last market :
Traditional German Gingerbread Hearts ! Go get these beautiful and authentic Gingerbread Hearts for your Bavarian Party ! Authentic Bavarian Pretzels with salt or with cheese. Due to that high amount of labor I only can bring a certain amount, which usually sell out super fast. Please come early to get some for you to enjoy The most famous German Torte : Blackforest Cake or āSchwarzwaelder Kirschtorteā, a 3 layered chocolate cake with cherries and heavy cream My creamy, lemony German Cheesecake with Blueberries. My bestseller and even in my Bavarian colour Blue and White The most popular German Apfelkuchen, a sunken applecake Fluffy Cinnamon Rolls with Cream cheese frosting Super soft Lemon Rolls with freshly cooked Lemon Curd and Lemon Icing Traditional Poppyseed rolls, the same soft dough like the other rolls, with a delicious cooked Poppyseed filling
Glutenfree and dairyfree : Delicious Chocolate-Banana-Cake (GF, DF, Vegan) Exquisite Vanilla-Blueberry-Cake (GF, DF, Vegan) Juicy Lemon-Poppyseed Muffins (GF, DF, Vegan) Scrumptious Protein Bars loaded with fiber, extra scoop of protein (organic milk thistle, h**p seed and pumpkin seed powder), fruits, nuts and seeds. GF, DF, vegan, no sugar, but perfectly sweetened with all the fresh and dried fruits. High in fiber and protein and great in taste !
Savory Pretzels š„Ø !
And certainly my freshly cooked, very aromatic Strawberry-, Blueberry- and Cranberry-Low-Sugar-Jams ! 66% fruits and only 33% sugar. You can taste the difference !
Itās been an enormous pleasure and great honor serving you at Williamsburg and Yorktown Farmers Market, and with this great last market day Curtis, Antonia and I say thank you and good-bye.
With warmest regards and deepest gratitude,
Ulla Clayborne

Dear customers and friends,
Iāll bring tomorrow a Kasesahne with Peaches and plenty of Yoghurt-HeavyCream, an Applecake with thick Sourcream-HeavyCream-layer and a Beesting (Honey-Almond) with Vanilla Custard. Is this a wise decision or absolutely crazy regarding the temperatures ? Definitely last! šš . Do I recommend Dianaās European Delights to start bringing such creamy deliciousnesses when itās a little bit cooler? Definitely so āš¼š .
But so many requests and so little time left for me to bake. (Although Diana is baking really fabulous and youāll be in super good hands !!)
So: I bring some coolers. I will freeze tonight my freshly cooked (very delicious) Corn Chowder, so that itāll cool my items. Iāll bring frozen/icecold water bottles for you guys. But still :the earlier you can make it, the better. Thank you so very much!!!
And after tomorrow Iāll make āOktoberfestā at my last 2 markets at August 5 and 19 šš„Øš
07/25/2023
Weāre baking since weeks together, so that I can not only pass on the written recipes, but also the one or the other good tip. But really Diana was from the beginning sooo ready to take overš - Youāll have a fabulous German Baker with Diana š„°šš½š

Curtis will be out playing a golf tournament, but your German Baker team Diana and I will be looking forward to seeing you this Saturday at beautiful Yorktown Market āŗļøšš½š!
I wanted to share Dianaās page, but it seems I am not super good with internet š±š. Please LIKE Dianaās page āDIANAās EUROPEAN DELIGHTSā https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100094014855525 and see how sheāll take over my business! Diana is inheriting my recipes, although she actually is an excellent baker herself. And yes, Diana also will bring gluten-free items, as well as regular baked items, soups, jams, etc. At the beginning her amount of her baked goods might not be as big as what I brought, but eventually sheāll bring more. But most importantly: her cakes just taste marvelous and I know you will love it ! And that is just wonderful āŗļøšš½š

Hallo, my name is Ulla Clayborne and I am very happy and thankful for where I am in my life and what I may do for you here with my little farmerās market business. I grew up in Bavaria, South-Germany, where I learned how to cook and bake from my mother, my grandmother, who was born and raised in Alsace, France, and also from my great-grandmother.
Cooking, baking and hosting guests fascinated me way more than anything else and so after my highschool-exam I completed a 3-year-apprenticeship in Germanyās best hotel in the Black Forest. This was my stepping stone to work as restaurant manager in super deluxe hotels in England, Switzerland, Germany, South-Africa and Wales. After these very exciting and forever precious years I moved back to Germany, Tuebingen near Stuttgart, studied engineering and architecture in Stuttgart and also became a mom of 2 very wonderful meanwhile adults . I worked as a certified, degreed architect in several offices, then as a real-estate-agent and finally I also became an executive-assistant of an international operating transportation design company. In Stuttgart I also met my husband, an US Air Force Chief Master Seargeant, who meanwhile retired after more than 27 years of service.
In summer 2019 we moved back to the USA, to beautiful Williamsburg, where I can fulfill my dream now, go back to my roots and cook and bake my traditional family-recipes from South-Germany and France. You will find different cakes, tartes, baguette, Kaesspaetzle (german version of mac and cheese), savory or sweet jams, soups, salads and basically everything I can pack in as environfriendly as possible boxes, bags or jars (for last mentioned I will ask for a deposit, hoping you bring back the jar again).
I look very much forward to meeting and sharing my food with you, hoping youāll enjoy it as much as family and friends do in our home. Thank you and meet you at the beautiful Williamsburg Farmers Market,
