💗 Hearts for Harper 💗

In honor of the joy, kindness, and love Harper brought to so many, we are creating the Hearts for Harper Rock Garden at Martha B. Day Elementary—a special place where our community can leave a little love, share a happy thought, and spread kindness. 🌸🪨💗

We invite our Bloomingdale families and community to join us for a special dedication:

Parking enforcement devices known as “Safety Sticks” have been installed in areas of West Allendale Avenue and will be operational Friday, October 2nd.

Safety Sticks are a highly visible solution that monitor for parking violations 24/7/365 and take photographs of illegally parked vehicles in “No Parking” zones.

When a violation occurs, the device captures a photo, including the date, time, and location, providing clear evidence of the incident. Once Allendale Police personnel review and approve the evidence, a summons is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.

Vehicles illegally parked on yellow curbs near crosswalks and intersections create hazards for both pedestrians and motorists. These Safety Sticks have been installed in an effort to prevent illegal parking and to increase safety. The Allendale Police Department will also continue to monitor our business districts and take the appropriate enforcement action for other parking and moving violations.

The Allendale Police Department is committed to providing a safe community for all. Once operational on October 2nd, they will begin photographing violations and Allendale Officers will be mailing out summonses.

Wyckoff Scout Pack 309’s Arrow of Light Den is working on their service project. These scouts chose RBARI to help with the needs of their shelter dogs and cats. The Wyckoff Library has graciously allowed the den to keep a box for donations in their front vestibule. If you can consider making a donation, some of the most important items are small clean blankets, paper towels, and toilet paper, as well as other necessities. All items will be picked up on September 28th. Thank you so much for your consideration!

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Bergen County from 8pm tonight until 11pm Monday August 3, 2026. Motorists and Residents are reminded to avoid flooded roadways during this time. Always remain weather aware!

We're much more interested in knowing your kids' names than knowing your gastroenterologist's. 🥬

As the recent headlines about the parasite cyclospora continue to climb, it's easy to start wondering and changing purchase habits so you can protect yourself and your family. That's where our heads are at too, because the last thing I want is to give my 4-year old and 12-month old explosive 💩

One of the benefits of shopping at a local farm is knowing where your food comes from, and knowing the people who grow it. Most of our produce you can find in our market right now is grown right here on the farm in Wyckoff or Hillsborough, NJ. Pictured above is Josh's lettuce field in Wyckoff. As for berries (strawbs season is over for us), we source them in small quantities from trusted growers, with heavy emphasis on sourcing as local as possible here in NJ.

Like you, we are monitoring updates from state and federal agriculture officials as they work to identify the source of the current Cyclospora outbreak in the midwest.

Your produce shouldn't come with a mystery.

Plot twist: the bagel you're eating this morning should still be warm from the oven it was baked in *this morning.* Wild bar to set, right?

But most customers never ask "what time were these made?" because bagels have trained us to expect mediocrity.

Red flag: if the answer involves the words "delivered," "prepared earlier this week," or awkward silence.

Good answer: they can tell you the exact process (hand-shaped, kettle-boiled, oven-finished) AND that it happened before the sun came up today while you were still asleep.

If your bagel guy can't explain what happened at 4 AM, find a new bagel guy. 😴➡️☀️
