In addition to running my bakery I also have a full time job and two little boys who are five and two. Things get a little wild over here sometimes. One of the things that keeps me on track and helps to manage the chaos is what I call prebatching. I prep, weigh, and bag my dry ingredients ahead of time. I do the same thing with the eggs when I know I’m baking in bulk. The prep work is really what carries everything. This morning I prepped 6 sugar cookie batches and made a fresh batch of brown sugar because I know the next three weeks are going to be VERY busy for us, and I need it to go smoothly.

Our new piping tips and the packaging came in for the Spring and Mother’s Day preorders. I’m really excited to be switching over to the 4x6 product labels. We’ll be using them for the first time on our Spring Preorder. All the information will come on one label, and it’ll be a much more efficient system. It’ll also be so much easier to see if we’re missing a label anywhere along the way.

We got the new cards in and I’m so excited! They’re super similar to the old ones, but they’ve been updated to show the LLC. I want to try to include a card with each order going forward. I’m trying to do better with the marketing and branding aspects of running the bakery. I’m learning from each experience, and who knows? Maybe one day I’ll figure this thing out 🙂

The weatherman keeps calling for showers, but that’s not my vibe. We’re skipping straight to the flowers on our side of things! We’ll have a limited supply of our sugar cookie boxes available for delivery 4/27. We’re taking orders now, and we’d love to add you to our list!

Ok guys! After one HECK of a long day of deliveries… we are finally back home and I’m so proud to say WE SOLD OUT! That’s a wrap on our Easter Preorder special! We prepared 20 boxes of cookies and you guys grabbed them ALL! Thank you to our wonderful local community for all the continued support, and Happy Easter everyone! See you soon!
