Didn’t get many pictures last night, but what an experience. Thank you to everyone who came and showed Karen Read some support, We’re still unsure of the exact number raised from cakes last night, since a few payments were made directly to the defense fund. We did take in a total of cash and Venmo payments of $1093. It was incredible to see everyone come together to support someone they don’t even know. We also had the opportunity to meet Nathan and Kelly Read last night. We also met her father at the court house yesterday morning. The genuine heartfelt gratitude that came from this family is overwhelming. We do know that after meeting and speaking with them and solidifies my stance on this case. She is innocent and we at Taste Great Cakes will continue to do our part in the fight for Karen’s freedom, and continue to offer the cakes in our shop as long as we need to. Alan Jackson said it best we ain’t got no quit. I always want to give a huge shout out to The Star Drive-In for hosting this wonderful event, to Nick Rocco and Jenna Rocco for organizing the event, and the man who made us all aware and started the fight Turtleboy, Clarence Woods Emerson. Thank you all this is something we truly will never forget.
