For those that don’t know me, I’m Justyn, Owner and operator of Blessed Bakery. My customers in the beginning didn’t know my name so they always referred to me as "The Cake Lady”, and it has kind of stuck. I have been doing cakes now for 8 years and some still don’t know my name. 😂. A little about me.
~ First and foremost, I have to thank my Father in Heaven for all that I have. He has blessed m
e, and I give him all the Praise, Honor, and Glory. I am a child of God, a wife to my amazing husband, mother to my beautiful daughter, sister to my crazy, (in a good way), funny brother, daughter to my parents in Heaven, and a friend to so many. I love my family and friends with all my heart. I am a cake baker. I love my flowers and little garden I have planted. I love the beach. I love being around people and I love doing things for others. I love seeing people happy and smiling. I love going to church and I love my church family. I’m part of the choir, I’m on the women’s ministry board, I handle the phone tree for all prayer request, I’m on the drama team, and I’m on the list for cakes for any occasion we have. And I enjoy every bit of what I do.
~ When I was in middle school I wanted to learn how to make and decorate cakes. My mom bought me one of those plastic cake decorating tools with plastic tips. (Never buy those by the way. They are horrible.) I would call a local cake baker, Mary Rogerson, (who I look up too tremendously and who has shared a few of her recipes with me), and I would buy a tub of her decorating icing for $3. I would try to decorate the cake I made. It was horrible. 😂. So after a while I gave up. Fast forward to 2015. I started making cupcakes and selling them because I needed the extra money. I would stay up all night cooking and decorating these 50-75 cupcakes. ALL NIGHT y’all! I drove around town asking people if they wanted to buy cupcakes. I always sold out. So I decided to try in Greenville as well. I drove from Williamston to Greenville once a week and sold cupcakes. And did pretty good. Then I started doing cake slices. Only 1-2 cakes a week and would sell in Williamston and Greenville. In 2017 I moved to Greenville, and I was making 8 cakes a week and slicing them and selling them. Now I’m driving to Williamston once a week. No matter what, Williamston will always be on my list. They are my hometown and they helped me get started by supporting me first. My family and I were staying with my friend Mary and her family at the time until we could find a place in the school district we wanted my daughter in. So thankful for her by the way. Once we moved into our own place, I decided to expand my menu. I add sausage balls, chicken salad, Buffalo chicken salad, pimento cheese, and jalapeño pimento cheese. Over time I added more and i am constantly adding to my menu. I now do party platters which can be fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, or sweets. I do chicken and rice and vegetable beef soup. I do meatballs, cocktail weenies, and ham and cheese sliders with poppy seed mustard. I do all kinds of sweets such as different types of brownies, congo squares, chocolate chip cookies, monster cookies, Rice Krispie treats and much more. I also do cheese balls, cheese pennies, party squares, cakes in a jar, and chocolate covered strawberries. If there’s something you want that isn’t listed, please ask. I have a lot of other things that I haven’t mentioned. Thank you all for liking my page and supporting my small business. I look forward to doing business with you soon. God bless each of you.
