Jana's Cakes for Kids This is a non-profit organization that donates cakes from a local bakery, Connie's Cookies, and a party basket to children at Wichita Children's Home.

Once a month, after contacting the bakery Connie's Cookies and Wichita Children's Home a week before hand, I deliver sweets to the Home from the bakery, as well as a party basket. On the day of the delivery, I load up the basket (which I usually fill with party favors the night before hand) into my car and go to the bakery to pick up the cakes. The bakery typically donates three cakes to the organ

ization. After picking up the cakes, I drive to the Children's Home and drop off the cakes and the basket at the front desk. I am not allowed to give it to the children directly due to privacy issues. At the Children's Home, I pick up a tax receipt which I fill out and give to the bakery, keeping one copy to give back to the Children's home. Then, a week after the delivery, I go back to the Children's Home to pick up the basket for next month along with Thank You cards the children have filled out. I then pick out a few cards to give to the bakery to let them know how much they are appreciated. I also keep an active log of the deliveries through an Excel sheet. The next month, I do it all again!

2015 was a successful year for Jana's Cakes for Kids. We took enough clothes, which were donated by the high school students of Wichita Collegiate School, to fill the two donation boxes (and then some) in October and baked 84 cookies and 84 brownies for each of the kids (with a candy cane) for Christmas. We also made monthly party basket and treats delivery. Thanks to the donations of Connie's Cookies and Walmart, we were able to make many special deliveries to Wichita Children's Home this year.

Connie's Cookies has been working with Jana's Cakes for Kids and donating delicious looking cookies and cupcakes to the Wichita Children's Home the past few months in order to give the kids there a special birthday party.
