As business owners , sometimes you have to make decisions that really feel like it’s no win either way

We decided to cancel our trick or treat because we spoke with channel 3 weather and they were forecasting 30 + mph winds. We had a few vendors concerned , because high winds, and display set ups don’t mix. High winds also meant a lot of the games that were being set up wouldn’t stand, and the bounce house couldn’t be set up. We had to trust what we knew at the moment and decided to cancel. However, it’s Texas and it’s impossible to predict what the weather will do from one hour to the next.

Today , at the Farmers market the gusts were knocking displays and products off of people’s tables. This afternoon about the time we would have been setting up, the wind was very gusty as well and we felt we made the right call for our vendors and our guest.

However , we have since gotten ugly messages saying this was intentional and how I didn’t announce it. We posted it twice , posted a story, and I did a live, unfortunately I didn’t know how else to get the word out to everyone , so if you went by there we are truly truly sorry, we never meant to upset anyone , but we knew if we didn’t cancel, and it was crazy windy, about half of the games wouldn’t be up and it wouldn’t be fun for anyone. Our hearts are heavy tonight knowing that we have upset some people because that was never our intention at all. Our goal is to be a blessing to our customers and this town and we hate that this comes across contrary to that goal. It was never intentional , up until a vendor messaged me on Thursday I hadn’t even seen the wind forecast for today.

We do however promise we will be having more events soon that will be fun for the whole family. We will be having a Black Friday Shopping blitz on Black Friday, with lots of great shopping, cookie decorating for the kids , and fun. We will also be kicking off our angel tree very soon, so be on the lookout for details on that.

Again, we are truly sorry if having to cancel upset anyone.

Unfortunately, due to forecasted high winds on Saturday evening, and no way to move our event indoors, we have made the difficult decision to cancel. We want our vendors and families to have a fun experience, and with winds that high, Im afraid that is not possible.
