UPDATE
I am sad to share Mellie's Sweet Things will not be opening soon in Whigham due to circumstances beyond my control.
I have always been a firm believer that when the Lord shuts a door that he opens a window. Sometimes the window is in another house that is in a different town!
This is one of those times - I am happy to share I have accepted an Executive Assistant position at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville.

Does this mean Mellie's is closed forever? No! It means not right now. The right place and time will come, I am sure of it. Until then I am happy to bake for family and friends as time allows. 😉

The test bake was strawberry cream cheese rolls! As mentioned in a previous post, test bakes are truly trying out a developing recipe, or an existing recipe I am trying out to see if it will work in the bakery.
The verdit: there is a nice balance of strawberry and cream cheese mixture, and a glaze will pair nicely as a topping vs. the buttercream icing I use on my standard cinnamon rolls.
Will they be featured in the bakery? Not any time soon. Although the filling is yummy, it needs more development.

I've had several people ask and I can confirm Mellie's will open in GA! It may take some time, but I will be baking again.
