A special recipe that warms my heart as much as it sweetens my day 🥰 Let me share the STORY behind this Cookie roll. This recipe was shared by someone very special to me. I call this ‘El Rollo de Doña Elizabeth’. Back in the days in the Dominican republic we used to make this dessert together during the holidays and we used to give it as a gift during Christmas ONLY. And was only gifted to someone very close and special to us. And the reason for that was 1) because it was not a cheap to make back there. As silly as it sounds the ingredients required were only imported (hence the price) 2) These ingredients were only available to us during the holiday season. Thats where the name ‘Christmas Cookie Roll’ came from. If you have ever receive one of these rolls from me, consider yourself very special to me. Every year, I tell myself: this is the last time I’m making this (biggest lie I ever said). Oh I forgot to mention how tedious it is to make. You need 💪🏼 to roll this sticky dough but is SOOO worth it. Every bite tastes like heaven. Thank you for sharing Not just a recipe, but a gift of happiness and memories that will last forever 💕
