To My Dear Knotty Swan Family,
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.
After much prayer, reflection, and many tears, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to close the doors of Knotty Swan Bakeshop this August (final day being AUGUST 7th).
Nearly four years ago, I opened this little bakery with flour on my apron, big dreams in my heart, and faith that God would guide every step. I never could have imagined the incredible community that would grow around it.
You didn’t just buy bread, cookies, pastries, or cakes.
You celebrated birthdays with us.
You trusted us with weddings and baby showers.
You brought our treats to family dinners and holiday tables.
You recommended us to your friends and became friends yourselves.
Some of you have been here since the very first loaf of bread came out of my oven. Others found us somewhere along the way. Every single order, every encouraging message, every smile at pickup, every shared photo, every prayer, and every kind word has meant more than I could ever express.
Because of you, this little dream became something so much bigger than I ever imagined.
As many of you know, our family is preparing to welcome our very first baby this fall. Becoming a mother is the greatest blessing God has entrusted to me, and after much prayer, I’ve realized this season is calling me in a different direction.
It’s time to slow down.
It’s time to spend these precious moments with my growing family.
And it’s time to pursue another creative dream that has been quietly growing in my heart for a long time.
While the ovens may be cooling, my love for creating never will.
This isn’t goodbye to creativity—it’s simply the closing of one beautiful chapter before another begins.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you… 🙏
Thank you for believing in a small-town baker.
Thank you for supporting a husband-and-wife dream.
Thank you for showing grace when I was learning.
Thank you for celebrating every success and standing beside us through every challenge.
Most importantly, thank you for becoming family.
I truly believe God writes every story with purpose, and although this chapter is ending, I know He is faithfully leading us into the next one.
Please keep our growing family in your prayers as we prepare to welcome our little miracle, and I hope you’ll continue following along as I begin this new artistic journey. I can’t wait to share what’s next with all of you.
