I mixed the dough at noon, and at 10 p.m. I finally tucked the last loaf into the fridge for the night. 🍞🩷

There were plenty of chores and everyday life happening between folds while the dough did its thing—but Dough Day has officially wrapped up.

Now the loaves rest overnight, and tomorrow the baking begins!

Apparently, running a sourdough bakery means even the dough gets a late-night snack before I do.

We’ve had quite a few new faces join us recently, so I thought it was time to reintroduce the woman behind the bread! 🍞🩷

Hi, I’m Samantha—the baker, dishwasher, recipe tester, label maker, social media manager, and professional flour-covered mess behind Samantha’s Sourdough. 😂

A few fun facts about me:

🍞 I’m a wife and homeschool mama to two teenage girls.
📖 I love Jesus, Bible study, and serving my community.
📚 I can easily lose an entire day in a good psychological thriller.
☕️ I’m a night owl who believes coffee tastes better in a cute cup.
🍂 Fall is my favorite—even when Southwest Virginia insists on giving us 90-degree September days.
🩷 I love creating new bread flavors almost as much as I love seeing people enjoy them.

I’ve lived with Crohn’s disease since I was 15, and its severity keeps me from being able to work a traditional job outside our home. Samantha's Sourdough has given me a way to work around my health, use something I love to help provide extra income for our family, and still be present for my girls.

What started as a love for baking has grown into something that means so much to me and our family. Every order, comment, share, and recommendation helps support this little bakery dream. I’m incredibly grateful you’re here. 🤍

Saturday’s menu is officially here—and I may have gotten a little carried away this week. 😂🍞

Along with fresh sourdough loaves and cheesy garlic rolls, I’m bringing plenty of sweet treats, homemade granola, pancake mixes, and our new Mini Banana Bread Flights!

Each $12 flight includes four mini banana breads in four different flavors:

🍌 Chocolate Chip
🍌 Cinnamon Streusel
🍌 Biscoff
🍌 Banana Pudding

Because choosing only one flavor is entirely too much pressure. 😂

Wednesday is the quiet setup day before the flour starts flying. 😂🍞

I'll be sharing Saturday’s menu, shopping for supplies, waking up my starter, and getting all the labels and packaging ready for Dough Day.

Then I’ll trade bakery prep for Bible study with my girls tonight. A full day, but a good one. 🩷
