KoKo Cakes is a registered home-based bakery that specializes in custom cakes for all occasions: home-made with love for life's sweetest moments.

I've been baking pretty much my whole life! But I took a cake decorating class in the Fall of 2010 and it opened a whole new world for me and was the creative outlet I didn't know I was looking for. I took a big step in the Fall of 2018 and became licensed through the state of MN and began selling cakes to family and friends. Through word of mouth and a small social media presence, I am consistently busy with wonderful cake orders.

A little KoKo Cakes update… 💕

Life is very full right now, and for this season, I simply don’t have the time to give KoKo Cakes—and all of you—the attention you deserve. So for now, I’m taking a little break from cake orders.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me to be part of your birthdays, weddings, graduations, and celebrations over the years. 🎂❤️ Your support of this little cake business of mine has meant more to me than you know.

This isn’t goodbye—just a pause while I give my time and energy to the things that need me most right now. I hope there will be room for KoKo Cakes again before too long. 💕

🔫💦 This birthday party was a BLAST! 😂💥

A little more catching up on summer cakes! This one was for Mac’s friend party for his 12th birthday. He requested a Giratina-themed Pokémon cake, so Giratina’s colors and markings became the inspiration for the whole design. ❤️🖤💛

The party itself was a giant water gun fight in our backyard, and the boys had an absolute BLAST! 😂 Get it?! 🔫💦 I couldn’t resist.

Lots of water, lots of running, lots of laughs…and, of course, CAKE! 🎂

Happy belated 12th Birthday, Mac! ❤️

☀️🌊 ONE IN THE SUN! 🌊☀️

How fun is this little smash cake?! 💙 Mom asked for a vanilla cake with a “One in the Sun” theme—complete with sand, beach balls and waves—and I loved bringing her idea to life!

We made the custom sun topper, added handmade edible beach balls, some sandy details on top, and tried a fun new piping technique to create the waves around the bottom. 🌊🏖️

Such a fun, summery way to celebrate a FIRST birthday! ☀️🎂

🎂💙 When your birthday falls on the LAST day of camp… Mom brings the party to you! 🥳

I made these cupcakes for Mac’s 12th birthday, which happened to fall on his very last day of camp this summer!

I rode up on the bus to meet the campers and came prepared with cupcakes and freezie pops for everyone so we could all celebrate the birthday boy. 🧁☀️

And Mac was a VERY good sport and even let me deck him out in all the birthday gear I brought along. 😂👑🎉 The crown, sash, button… the whole works!

I’m pretty sure there’s no better way to end a week at camp—or start being 12! 💙

Calling all future cake decorators! It’s time to let the KIDS take over KoKo Cakes! 🎨🧁

Print the coloring sheet below and have your child design their dream cake—sprinkles, flowers, animals, crazy colors…whatever they can dream up! Grown-ups can help with the printing, but the cake design belongs to the kiddos. 😉

🎨 TO ENTER:
• Decorate the cake and give it a name!

• Include the child’s first name, age & cake name

🥤🎂 A Cake in Its Natural Habitat! 🎂🥤

I LOVE seeing my cakes out in the wild—at the party, surrounded by the people they were made to celebrate! ❤️

This Dr Pepper cake was already a fun one to make, but seeing it at the party makes it even better. And yes… the cake AND frosting were Dr Pepper flavored! 😍

Thanks for sharing these pictures with me—I love getting to see a little glimpse of the celebration after the cake leaves my kitchen! 🥰

🎂 Four Birthdays, One Cake! 🎂

Now that our kiddos are getting older, our family doesn't always get everyone together for every birthday like we used to. ❤️ But with FOUR family birthdays in just 10 days in July, we decided one big July Birthday Pool Party was definitely necessary! ☀️💦

I loved making this cake because it included everyone—each birthday circled with a heart on the calendar, all on one cake. 🥰 Such a fun (and delicious!) way to celebrate four people we love!

When Miss KoKo’s bestie loves Dr Pepper as much as I do, you obviously make her a Dr Pepper cake! ❤️🥤

And we didn’t stop at the theme—the cake AND the frosting were Dr Pepper flavored! It was a HUGE hit!

But the best review came from the birthday girl’s dad, who texted me afterward:
“This cake wins against any other cake.” 😂❤️

I’ll take it!! Happy Birthday to one of our favorite Dr Pepper-loving girls!
