Meet Andarna.

If you’ve had any of our sourdough, you’ve technically already met her.

Andarna is the sourdough starter behind our breads, cookies, pretzels, granola, and *almost* everything else sourdough that comes out of the Whisk Takers kitchen.

She gets fed regularly, takes up permanent residence in our kitchen, and occasionally decides not to cooperate simply because she can.

Basically she’s part ingredient, part pet, and a very important member of Whisk Takers. 🥰

So if you’ve ever wondered where all of our sourdough starts, this is her!

We’re all set up at the Highland Farmers’ Market, and we can finally introduce the newest addition to Whisk Takers:

🥣 Sourdough Maple Brown Sugar Granola!

It’s crunchy, made with our sourdough starter, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and almonds, (some with coconut flakes) and we brought samples so you can try it before you take a bag home!

We’re getting ready for another Saturday at the Highland Farmers’ Market! Tomorrow is a very special day with the Monarch & Native Gardens Celebration!

Tomorrow’s lineup:

And we’re bringing something brand new tomorrow, but we’re keeping that a surprise for now. We’ll share it in the morning!

Andarna is apparently a little particular about who feeds her. 😐

Halie usually handles our sourdough starter, but yesterday I took over feeding duties. Andarna was less than impressed and has barely risen since.

This photo is what she normally looks like after a feeding: happy, bubbly, and overflowing her container.

Coincidence? Probably. But I think I’ll leave the sourdough starter to Halie from now on. 😂

Hopefully Andarna gets over it soon because we have bread to make!

No farmers market this week, but that’s not a problem!

The Highland Farmers’ Market is taking the week off, but Whisk Takers is still baking!

If you’re craving one of our fresh sourdough sandwich loaves, soft sourdough pretzels, or homemade treats, we’d love to bake for you.

Orders are now open for Sunday pickup.

Because our sourdough is naturally fermented and made from scratch, we ask for at least 2 days notice on all bread orders. This allows us to give each loaf the time it needs to develop its flavor and texture.

If you’ve been craving one of our fresh sourdough sandwich loaves, soft sourdough pretzels, or homemade treats, we’d love to bake for you.
