Though a bit messy! I find sugar cookery to be very interesting and fun! Learning how to work with sugar at it's different stages, I see that soon, I'll know how to make my own candies (I probably could do it now, honestly)...
The peanut brittle and marshmallow had the purest and cleanest taste, without the chemical aftertaste of extra preservatives or additives...the caramel decorations were fun, but sugar gets extremely hot when cooked and that ish starts sticking to your skin, smh...so of course I had on gloves, lol!
This week, I'll be making Macarons...not to be confused with the sweet coconut cookie Macaroons! Macarons are made from Almond meal and have a light, crispy texture...a lot like a wafer. filled with a French Merigue Buttercream! Macaroons are made by whipping egg whites with sugar and a few other ingredients, with coconut being the main star!
