I used the toothpick as a guide to mark the back of my cake. You can also use tape or a small piece of fondant on the cake drum, works like a charm 😀.
Sometimes, your cake might not have a distinct front or back, especially with ganache or buttercream finishes. But as a cake decorator, you often develop a preference for a certain side. That’s just how it goes😝
