if you've been around for a while, you probably know we really like our breakfast around here.
while i could absolutely, happily, eat scrambled eggs and toast every morning for the rest of my days, french toast is always a welcome change! here's how i like to whip up this morning treat.
you will need:
sourdough loaf of choice (i reccomend einkorn or double chocolate, but just about any loaf will do!)
eggs
milk (any pourable dairy will do, half and half, milk, dairy free milks or even kefir)
cinnamon
butter
optional: butter, jam or maple syrup for topping
*as with most recipes we share, measure with your heart! these measurements are suitable for our family of 5 but i encourage you to play around with the recipe and find what suits you best!*
slice bread. whisk 4 eggs with a teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/3c milk in a shallow bowl. soak a few slices in the egg mixture while melting butter in a pan. once butter is melted and pan is hot, add soaked slices to pan and fry on each side for 3-4 minutes (until desired browness reached). top as desired and enjoy!
