I recently got to get away for a girls’ weekend to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and I brought this gluten free lemon coconut cake for her. This little beauty is made up of gluten free coconut cake layers, homemade lemon curd, coconut buttercream, and toasted coconut. The zing of the lemon curd did a beautiful job of cutting the sweetness of the coconut, while the toasted coconut on the outside added the perfect bit of crunch to round it all out.

When my son Harrison turned 4 last week, he had some very specific requests. He requested a construction themed chocolate cake with strawberry frosting on the inside and white frosting with chocolate ganache on the outside. What 4 year old knows to request ganache?!

It was so much fun to create this cake with him...I’m definitely one for a more understated theme, so I think we both wound up happy with this cake 😉 We used cake scraps from leveling the layers to make “dirt”, used the ganache as mud, and he got to help place the construction vehicle on top (his very favorite part).

Happy Easter Monday! I am thankful for our Savior who came to defeat death so that we might live, and I am thankful for the hope and joy that Spring brings 🌸

Happy New Year, friends! I know it’s already February, but I wanted to hop on and share a picture of what my world is looking like at the moment❤️ I don’t typically share much of my personal life here, but I thought I’d share a little snapshot of my maternity leave! I am planning my return to the baking world this spring, but I did want to share some changes...now that life is a WHOLE lot more exciting with 2 kiddos, I am going to start offering a more semi-custom menu in an effort to streamline my business and still allow me to provide treats for your celebrations!

Hello, friends! I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving holiday - I know it was a very different holiday for most this year, but I hope it was full of joy nonetheless. I am so thankful for each and every one of you, and for your support of my little business! ❤️

This is my last cake (and post) before maternity leave starts, and it’s a special one because it was for my sister’s birthday - a chocolate covered strawberry cake made up of chocolate cake layers, strawberry frosting, dark chocolate ganache, and topped with chocolate covered strawberries 🍓🍫

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, no matter what it looks like - I will see you all sometime in the new year! ❤️🎂✨

Happy Veteran’s Day, friends! Thank you to all who have served our country so bravely - we are so very grateful for your service ❤️🇺🇸

This weekend’s cake was a special cake for a sweet little friend (and a very appropriate cake to share today!). Our buddy who loves all things superhero turned 3, and he requested a blue Captain America cake. The inside was layers of blue vanilla cake and red vanilla buttercream, then covered in fondant (swipe to see the inside).

🎂 Maternity leave announcement!! 🎂

I thought this adorable tea party-themed birthday cake was the perfect picture to announce that I am having a baby girl this December! 👶🎀 I will be starting maternity leave Nov 15, and I have a few slots still available, so if you have an event coming up that needs a sweet treat, please go to my website and place your order!! I will be taking several months off to take care of my soon-to-be family of 4, so I will pop in here and there but will make an announcement when I am ready to take orders again.

Happy Friday, cake lovers! This gorgeous little duo was for a VERY special occasion - my little sister’s wedding ❤️ While it was not what they had originally planned, she and her husband were able to get married in a beautiful location surrounded by their families. The bride’s cake was vanilla cake with a strawberry buttercream filling and vanilla outside, and the groom’s cake was a decadent chocolate peanut butter cake 🍫🥜
