Baby race horse has my heart 🖤

Miner is half quarter horse but looks like a baby thoroughbred. He's so tall, sleek, and elegant!

✨️ I was watching him walk this evening after I brushed him, picked up those feet, and put on some fly spray and wow! His over step (back hoof step compared to where the front hoof was) and he's on average 6" over. That's a great sign for supple back and hips with balanced flexibility and strength 💪

Plus this guy is so smart 🤓 I enjoy teaching him and watching him pick things up so quickly!

Ideally he deserves a home that would put his shining qualities to good use (barrels, dressage, jumping, race track or similar??), but it would be pretty cool to swing a leg over this guy myself!

Thank you everyone for the pretty suggestions, and I even came up with some nice ones myself, but this one just hit. (I need a red mare in the future to name Ruby!!)

Horses are the way I've been able to express my artistic side for well over a decade, and black thoroughbreds have been a piece of that legacy as well. So it made sense to call her Dark Art. Besides, look at her pretty little interpretive dance about registration photos 🫠 I should just book the trainer now because 😬

I've reached a pinnacle milestone as a breeder, and I'm so excited about it 🥳🥰🤠

My breeding program is mid-sized as my two boys and I have typically run about 30-40 horses. We have gotten to experience so many wild things over the past couple decades. Buying and selling horses, c**t starting and restarts, birthing foals and either raising them or watching them in their new homes, and now the greatest thing of all.

When we walk out into our pastures and corrals, the majority of our stock is home raised. Horses that we bred for, dreams that we watched come true, and magic that we never even expected 🤩 I figured everything in the horse world had already been done, but we managed to produce a few that are the only ones in the world with their specific color markers!!

Now these human kids of mine are mostly grown, and I get to change direction a little bit. We have raised what I consider to be the ideal horses, and I'm ready to get back in the saddle and maybe focus some on the original dream!

We are 75% able to ride and cross our own home raised stock 🥳🤠😎 I can't even explain how awesome it feels to have owned the majority of the horses on a foal's papers. The history, the photos, the memories, the stories on each page can fill a whole heart ❤️

This fall we will be offering bred mares, stallions, yearling prospects, and weanlings as we move to an almost completely home raised herd! Some of these horses are who made us who we are as Heart of the Valley Performance Horses and some of them have a legacy that has not yet even begun! Many of the horses we are offering are ones that have given us mares and stallions to carry on the next generation with!

Ohhhh she's a cute little thing, and so fast!!

I'm planning to keep this little girl (add her to the list 🫠) but can you blame me?!

She will be dual registered JC and APHA, she's possibly homozygous black (I might test that later on), and she's the first baby out of our home raised, dominant white thoroughbred mare Artic Opal 🤍 plus she's by Red Bayou, and we don't have a keeper filly by him to date!!

I still have until the 20th of this month to come up with a registered name for her so hopefully a brilliant idea strikes me by then!!! 🖤

Betty didn't get bred last year and thus no foal, so she gets to be the "cool auntie" this year 😎

It's a silly thing, but if ever there was one that fit the description, this is him!!! Of course that word is nowhere to be found in his registration, so it's 100% a barn name.

We have 2 absolute knock out c**ts available, by our famous mare Kizzie Sugar.

This mare has produced some nice barrel horses and train robbers too! They would also make stellar jumpers or even lower level dressage horses. Roping, chasing cows, trail riding out in the mountains, any of it! They both have amazing, calm dispositions and level heads as well. 4H c**t to maturity prospects 🤓

Three Sox Chiffon is a buckskin yearling appendix stud (half thoroughbred), AQHA registered, and panel clean by parentage. He is a full sibling to the 2 geldings in Ohio that are running the train robberies 💰

Charlie Charge is a palomino dun weanling gelding, AQHA and APHA registered, and panel clean by parentage. This guy is built as absolutely perfect as can be for a sport horse (imo anyway)! Check out that conformation 😍

I don't mind keeping both of these c**ts. Socks can be started next year and will excel in both English and Western events, and that's just exactly my type of horse 😏 Charlie will be right behind him the following year and equally capable!

Both of these guys are the absolute epitome of what we produce here at Heart of the Valley Performance Horses
