I finally have a day off ...you know, the kind where you want your brain to relax?
But instead, in this 10th month of the year...that in January I expressed was most likely my last year due to a number of reasons...I have butterflies in my stomach and everything that's been swirling in my head is finally making it to a list ...on paper (no surprise to you but I just can't do the computer thing...give me a new notebook and a good pen and I'm in heaven!)
I kept payroll tight...which in turn made Seana, Theresa and I work our asses off. But I've never had a more efficient, enjoyable, productive kitchen/shop experience in 14 years! I can't thank them enough for all they've done from cupcakes to laughter to comfort and treating our customers like family and friends!
They get me and what this little shop is all about!
Seana, with her many talents above and beyond her degree in Biomedical Science, will be staying with me and slowly taking over the shop. Who am I kidding...she's been running it for the past nine months...it will just be on paper that we make things proper.
Theresa, while working on her Masters in Counseling, will hang around to counsel me in the kitchen...I mean, bake and make the cupcake magic happen! We are so grateful. She's an amazing human...🥰
And me...I'm not going anywhere. I'd love to pull myself out of the kitchen a bit and do and learn more about helping in the community and building our nonprofit.
But will still be hanging out at 38 Main.
It's been a life changing year for sure, many things you are aware of from losing eyesight in one eye, Jake's broken hip, shop flooding...and many not shared BUT through all of it...I only see positive!
It's hard to express the happiness and joy and satisfaction felt from not only making a product that is well received but building relationships with a community that is receiving them.
So, as I enjoy this day off making lists (did I mention I have a massive dumpster in my yard and I need to clean our garage and basement?!?!) ...just know how appreciative we are and how much we are looking forward to all the fun things to come and the relationships to keep building!!
