I have no regrets for the time from my business to grieve. However, I chose to work 'ON my business rather than IN my business."

On this day (12/23/22) last year I laid my mother to rest. This photo was taken on Thanksgiving Day 2022. Nothing could prepare me for what was to come. During my reflections of her I was surprised that it was filled with more happy memories than grief. Christmas was my mom's favorite holiday, and all I can do is remember all of the many Christmas holidays we spent together particularly the childhood ones. We didn't have much but somehow she made it work.

I miss her smile, infectious laugh, unapologetic honesty and humor. Most of all I will miss the "Hey baby girl" when she called.

Mommy, I hope you have the best heavenly Christmas.
