Good Afternoon & Happy Friday!☀️ 🎉
📣Here’s a little Homestead like a Haas (HLAH) announcement & menu change for this week.
I hope you’ll excitedly review & try something classic or something NEW! 🤞🏻🥰
WHY? — Our organic wheat berries are currently in transit & we have 200lbs of grains in total coming to last the full year, but they won’t arrive until 4/30 (Next Thursday), hopefully. 🤞🏻
In the meantime, we’re switching things to a SIMPLY STARTER kind of weekend menu!
🫧 Focusing on deep-flavor discard specials that still celebrate the 'living' side of the bakery but on a slower & even longer fermented side of the tracks! You’ll get a good sourdough tang to some of the savory dishes especially!
Discard is sourdough - actively grown wild yeast & bacteria. It’s still alive, it’s just asleep or well, awake & moving very slow. 😅 (reminds me of Mondays)
Anywho - It’s used in less “airy” & “springy” bakes. Sooo….
❗️ Please note that the one area of the menu that’s most effected is the breads as they take a larger portion of these freshly milled grains to make the proprietary blended taste you get from HLAH sourdough you don’t get with many others.
I have enough grains to make savory things like the waffles & bagels as usual, but the biggest contributor to this weekend will be more riding on the sweet treat train, focaccias or snack staples (great for kids or at your desk)! 😋
💓 I’ve added Muffins, biscuits, pretzel bites, & expanded the sweet rolls to all the seasonal offerings including a honey crisp apple pie focaccia! Things I’ve personally made for my family, but haven’t added to a formal menu, like today.

🤔 💭 I’ve been playing with the idea of focusing on more Breads & Breakfasts (with Britney) kind of idea anyways. So please let me know what you’d like to try this week & they can only get better with the fresh milled grains beginning again next week!! 🙌🏻
PS: Chicken & Duck eggs are still in full production & open to adding to your sourdough order! (Can’t wait for you to see the newly designed labels! 🥰)
