I bake for the love of it, for the art of it: Specializing in cheesecakes, cookies & bars, quick breads, cakes and desserts of many kinds...for when you need a special treat to dazzle at parties, feed to friends or keep and eat yourself! Everything is good for you in moderation, therefore I offer you a lot of moderation options.

My dream of opening a small bakery in my hometown of Tomahawk WI came true in 2019, on the iconic little street in northern Wisconsin. I walked away from my office job after finding the perfect little building to start in and signed the lease and started buying equipment. Little did I anticipate how quickly the additions would come. Gourmet cookies. Real baked Pasties. A full one of coffees, teas, fruit smoothies, boba. We’ve had so much fun learning about sweets and treats along the way. We specialize in keto friendly and gluten free options. We have a great candy corner filled with old fashioned treats from our childhood & classic snacks. We make unique homemade fudge. We bake our own doggie treats (pr-approved by my granddog, Howard, the corgi.) Stop in. Check us out. Have a chat. Smile. Life is sometimes tough, but we’re here to brighten your day as much as we can. "Don't wreck a sublime chocolate experience by feeling guilty."

Currently, I’m sitting in a beanbag chair as my 21 year old snoozes on her apartment couch. I’m couch-crashing here a few days as she had surgery on a broken leg from a skiing accident a few days ago. Poor kid 💜 she’s healing now. It was a bad break and a big surgery in Appleton. Incisions, cement & screws now hold her knee in place. Thank you to those of you who knew this was happening and reached out to check on her/us. Moms are cool and all, until their children are hurt. Then our world stops spinning, doesn’t it?

I’d like to address what’s been happening on my page because I know people have questions. It’s my hope to be as transparent as I can be. We recently got shut down by the health department due to a rodent issue in our basement; a room I have no legal access to nor do I own the building to alter that issue. We do not see mice in our kitchen and we have a pest control system in place. We always have. I take public safety serious and have never not passed all sanitation inspections or classes. We immediately complied with our closure. This began the exhausting days of landlord and lawyer speak, both of which stress me out and scares the crap out of me if I’m honest. In the professional words of the exterminator I hired, it rests on the buildings owner to put into place the essential building care for me to reopen. He has so far refused and expects Andy or I to make the building alterations... literally from cellar to roof. This is not, and cannot be my responsibility. My hands feel tied.

I am heartbroken.

For four years I have had empty promises on fixing small problems that have now turned into a bigger one and I wish I could speak more to that.
I do not have a building to move to or to even store my equipment in. I have had these precious weeks leading up to Christmas with all of its lost wages, lost product, canceled orders, and such distraught feelings, I cannot see a way out.

While we continue to be hopeful our landlord will consider fixing what he’s legally bound to, we also anticipate this will prove to be the end of our little shop and our lease is up. I’m thankful I had nearly 5 years in Tomahawk. It’s been a highlight. For real. 💜

As I take these next few weeks to think and overthink, I’ll probably call my therapist once or twice, and goddess knows I’ve cried ever since this happened
As always, I hope to figure it out. Whatever that will mean.
In the meantime, I truly wish you all THE BEST Christmas and New Year. I am grateful for your friendship and support. I apologize things didn’t turn out better. I’m right there with you wishing they would have. Maybe there’s a Christmas miracle out there to be had. And maybe a way out is our miracle. I honestly do not know.

Thank you for your support, love, and honesty. Those friends of mine who personally reached out to me and sent me messages to help, I appreciate your heart more than you will ever know, even if I didn’t have the mental strength to respond to you individually.
Those of you who sent me messages because you can’t wait to see me fail…..man oh man. No one should be that miserable. I wish you peace and happiness. Of course I’m going to delete hurtful comments but I am not hiding behind anything. Never have. Never will. Hating on me tells me who you are ✌️ and that’s not my problem to own.

Finally, in these last few stressful weeks in our family life, things seemed to just unravel by the minute. But we’re on the mend, in all ways possible. My family, my friends, my employees have been so supportive and comforting and I’m grateful for those gals. 💜 and Andy 💜

I will continue to post updates if I have them. Please give us time and send good vibes. I’m willing to do what I can and it will forever be just as important to me that we only reopen if it’s safe to do so. I hope to have a positive entry into 2024!!

We are closed until further notice.
I apologize for any inconvenience at any time of the year, but especially now. For the first time ever I will not be able to fulfill orders at this point in time and have had to hit the pause button.
More to come. Please keep us in your thoughts and hearts.
Thank you

Please be careful if you’re entering our shop. Our front steps are completely iced over due to a persistent drip from the outside fascia. We’ll keep it salted the best we can but it’s impossible to keep up with it. 💜 🧊
