As much as I love creating over-the-top desserts, I always have a soft spot for the classics.

A warm chocolate chip cookie with melty chocolate. An oatmeal raisin cookie that's perfectly chewy. A peanut butter cookie with crisp edges and a soft center. When I worked in fine dining, I always had a mini cookie platter on the menu because there's just something so comforting about a cookie.

Sometimes the best dessert is the one that reminds you of home.
