When I was little, a used to love watching my mamaw bake and decorate cakes. She would make all of our birthday cakes growing up. I remember thinking to myself how fun it looked and how creative my mamaw was. Ever since then, I've loved the idea of opening my own bakery. But since was always afraid to take that leap of faith, I put that dream in the back of my mind. I ended up going to college to pursue my "reality" dream of getting my degree in Mathematics Education. Fast forward to the present, I'm married with two wonderful yet wild little boys. I'm in my 8th year of teaching with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. All of this is great, except I still thought about my dream of baking. I think back to all the times I stole spoon fulls of frosting from mamaw's kitchen, and how much fun it was watching her. So here I am now, through some strong encouragement from loved ones, starting my own baking business...Southern Sweets Bakery!
