Southern Sweets Bakery Bakery Dream...from cakes, cupcakes, breads, & more. My name is Monica Lorick! When I was little, a used to love watching my mamaw bake and decorate cakes.

She would make all of our birthday cakes growing up. I remember thinking to myself how fun it looked and how creative my mamaw was. Ever since then, I've loved the idea of opening my own bakery. But since was always afraid to take that leap of faith, I put that dream in the back of my mind. I ended up going to college to pursue my "reality" dream of getting my degree in Mathematics Education. Fas

t forward to the present, I'm married with two wonderful yet wild little boys. I'm in my 8th year of teaching with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. All of this is great, except I still thought about my dream of baking. I think back to all the times I stole spoon fulls of frosting from mamaw's kitchen, and how much fun it was watching her. So here I am now, through some strong encouragement from loved ones, starting my own baking business...Southern Sweets Bakery!

‼️SHE’S HERE!!! ESTELLA HAS ARRIVED‼️

For those of you that don’t know or haven’t heard, little over a month ago my trusty professional kitchen aid mixer, that started my business 3 years ago, decided it was time to retire.

She has mixed SEVERAL lbs of dough, 100s of scones, many cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, MULTIPLE batches of my homemade buttercream, and been there to try all the new all recipes (the successful ones and the failed ones). I will miss her dearly and may she rest in peace.

BUT…Thankfully my business has grown more than I could have ever imagined the past 3 years ❤️I love my customers❤️
I decided it was time for a “big girl” purchase for my business.
