This week in the case we have Strawberry White Chocolate scones and Banana Muffins (when these run out, we'll have Blueberry waiting in the wings). Saturday's going to be a lot of fun with Peaches and Caramel Bourbon Cream Pies.

We're also adding to our breakfast choices with a couple scrambles. Yesterday, I made a Ham, Scallion, and Cream Cheese Scramble, and I don't think I can bear to keep it from y'all. A couple eggs, some tasty add-ins, and a side of house-made griddled sourdough just can't be wrong. Look for these on the menu starting Friday!

And I'm super excited to let y'all know we've been kicking around the idea of hosting a Supper Club every other month, starting in August. We have lots of details to iron out, but I'm looking forward to stretching my bistro legs again. This will be a reservation-only prix fixe meal, so keep an eye out for when seats become available. More info in the coming weeks!

I'm so excited to let y'all know that Goldenroot Ginger Beers are back in stock! Perfect timing for summer. We ordered as much as these fridges will hold, so hopefully we'll have them for a while.

We're also officially making our new salad a menu staple. With Spinach, Strawberries, Red Onion, Bleu d'Auvergne cheese, and Candied Pecans, it's pretty special.

And! Our most popular Shrub is back! Come try the Cucumber Mint Refresher today. We've had people asking about this since last summer, and the season is finally here.

For Scones this week, we'll have Peaches and Cream. We also have Banana Muffins with a Brown Sugar Crumble, as well as Pineapple Cream Cheese Danishes.

Last, our Pies on Saturday will be Coconut Cream, and Quiches will be Roasted Tomato Jalapeno.

This week, we have Blueberry Lemons Scones, a Brown Sugar Cinnamon Muffin, and Strawberry Cream Cheese Danishes. And on Saturday we'll have a Fresh Fruit Tart--Blueberries, Strawberries, some Kiwi if we're lucky, over a Vanilla Pastry Cream. Also for Saturday, we'll have a Quiche with Charred Jalapeno, Cream Cheese, and Cheddar.

Our big announcement this week is that we just got our first shipment of beer in! From Summer Lager to Imperial Stout, we have something just for you.

And come see us on Thursday and Friday evenings for sharable plates of Cheese and Charcuterie, Romesco Chicken Skewers, a Putanesca Salad, or Carrot Pkhali.

Now that summer is unofficially officially here, we're bringing back last summer's most popular sandwich: Get your Chicken Bacon Crunch Sandwich now! It's a pain de mie bun with a seared chicken breast, bacon, jalapeno avocado sauce, crispy iceberg, tomato, and crushed up potato chips. You're gonna love it.

This week's muffins are Strawberry White Chocolate Swirl, the Danishes are Peaches and Cream, and the Blueberry Lemon Scones are back. For the pie, for a special-birthday request, we'll have a Double-Crust Pineapple Pie.

And, as always, we'll be open tonight and tomorrow for Cheese and Charcuterie Boards, Shared Plates, and Wine. Look out next week for our first selection of beer as well!

We're finishing up our Chocolate Pumpkin Scones tomorrow, so starting Thursday we'll have Passion Fruit, Coconut, Pistachio Scones. And today's the last day for the Raspberry White Chocolate Swirl Muffins. Look for the Blueberry Lemon Muffins in the case tomorrow. Last, we'll have Pineapple Turnovers starting tomorrow. For the time being, stop by today for a Strawberry Cream Cheese Danish.

Also in the case today are Pork and Tomatillo Roll-Ups, Mushroom Turnovers, and Spinach Artichoke Turnovers.

As always, our lunch menu opens at 11 today. We've got Creamy Tomato Soup on deck this week to go with your Grilled Cheeses. And, speaking of Grilled Cheese, don't pass up on the new Speck, Blue Cheese, Mozzarella, and Cherry Balsamic Onion Jam Grilled Cheese!

This week we'll continue with the Chocolate Pumpkin Scones and Raspberry White Chocolate Swirl Muffins.

We had a request to bring back the Caramel Banana Coffee Cream Pie, and who am I to argue?

We're also adding a new grilled cheese to the menu! This one's got Mozzarella and Moultonzola Blue Cheese, Speck (basically smoked prosciutto), and an Onion Cherry Jam.

Remember we're open in the evenings now for sharable plates and wine! And there's a new cheese on the Cheese and Charcuterie Boards: a gorgeous washed-rind Taleggio that pairs beautifully with the Nostrano Salami.

Talbot Commons Pocket Hotel invites you to the table... The 150 ft table!

A fundraising event benefiting the Greater Taylor Community Foundation, targeting food insecurity in our community, will take place at the longest table in history!

Join us this Friday, May 8, from 6–9 PM for a special outdoor dining experience on Talbot Street in historic Downtown Taylor as we celebrate 150 years of Taylor, Texas.

Enjoy dinner at a long community table next to Talbot Commons Hotel, hosted by Chef Adrian of Brass Peacock / City Post Chophouse and Talbot Commons.

The evening begins with cheese and charcuterie from Antonelli's Cheese Shop, followed by a dinner prepared by Chef Mike and Taylor ISD culinary students featuring spring salad, chateaubriand with veal demi-glace, potatoes au gratin, and fresh vegetables. Dessert will be provided by Taylor’s own Flake Bakery.

A cash bar with beer, wine, and cocktails will also be available. Proudly sponsored by the Anna+Anton Legacy Foundation.

First, an announcement: We'll be open tomorrow for our regular service, but in the evening, we'll be prepping for a big event on Friday (more below), so we'll be open only for to-go Cheese and Charcuterie Boards and bottles of wine to take home. All bottles are 10% off when taken to go.

Now, on to the event! Talbot Commons is hosting Table on Talbot on Friday evening, and a few tickets are still available. From their page:

An outdoor dining experience on Talbot St in the heart of historic downtown Taylor celebrating 150 years of Taylor, Texas.

This event will be held outdoors at an extra-long Table on Talbot St next to the Talbot Commons Hotel. Hosted by Chef Adrian from Brass Peacock/City Post Chophouse and Talbot Commons, this event will benefit the Greater Taylor Community Foundation, specifically targeting food insecurity for our neighbors in Taylor, Texas.

As for the bakery, right now we have Strawberry Muffins with a Cardamom Crumble and Cream Cheese Drizzle. Friday or Saturday we'll switch over to Raspberry White Chocolate. And I've been thinking about Pumpkin Chocolate Scones a lot lately, and I don't see how we're going to make it to the fall before having them again. It wouldn't be right. So, right now we have Blueberry Lemon, and then around Saturday we'll have the Pumpkin Chocolate.

This Sunday is Mother's Day! We had Blueberry Lemon Cream Pies last week, and a few people pointed out that that is a perfect Mother's Day flavor, so we're bringing it back by popular "you have to." Be sure to order these ahead!

Last week I mentioned our new Pistachio Horchata. It's become our most popular drink! Every time we make a new batch, we double how much we make. It's getting exponential over here.

I think that about covers it!

Starting tomorrow, we'll have Blueberry Lemon Scones, Strawberry Cardamom Muffins, and Peaches and Cream Danishes.

Saturday we'll have Blueberry Lemon Cream Pie.

We have a couple minor changes to our menu: the Meatball Ciabatta is now a Beef Patty Ciabatta, for ease of getting-it-into-your-mouth-ness. And we've added a new Greek Salad--romaine, Kalamatas, bell peppers, feta, cucumbers, and red wine vinaigrette. This one's great with a grilled chicken breast on top.

And we have some new drinks! You've gotta try the Pistachio Horchata. Nothing but raves coming from this corner. If you're feeling especially inspired, we can add a couple drops of rose water. Get it with whole or oat milk, whichever you like.

This month's new refresher is a Strawberry Basil shrub, topped with sparkling water.

And, we've added to our wine list:

We've got a new Pinot: Gaspard, another from Loire (not sure if y'all've noticed, but I have a soft spot). We're also introducing the Trinqu'ames Sauv Blanc from Touraine. If you've ever been sticker-shocked over a Sancerre, this is a great alternative. Last, we have a new rose, this one coming from Austria. Think strawberries and cream--super drinkable, with a lower ABV, making it a great bottle to share.

And don't forget we're open Thursday and Friday evenings for dinner-ish service. We started out with meat and cheese boards, but we've expanded the menu to include Romesco Chicken Skewers, Samsa Meatballs with a Yogurt Sauce and lots of herbs, and Carrot Pkhali.

I say this every week, and I hope it doesn't sound tired, because I mean it more than you know. Thank you for letting us bake for you. I can't believe the goodness I get to come across every day just visiting with each of you. Multiple times a week, we're in the kitchen with, "You need to go out there and meet that baby," or "I just met the author of a book I bought at Curio!"

We're all incredibly lucky to know you. If we don't know you yet, we can't wait.

There aren't a lot of big changes to the menu this week, but we have added a Turkey Cheddar Roll-Up to the pastry case.

Tomorrow, we'll start out with the Peaches and Cream scones, then move on to a Mango, Coconut, and Lime version. Muffins will continue with Blueberry for the week.

For the pie, I'm thinking like a Banana Cream Pie but with a layer of Caramel and the Cream part is Coffee. Doesn't that sound so good right now?

Remember, we are open for evening service on Thursday and Friday nights from 4-8! The menu is really starting to round out with lots of shareable plates, and we have some fun wines to pair everything with.
