last week we presented a mini scrubs menu and basically never promoted it outside of stories (sometimes life just keeps movin and groovin, ya know?) so happy to announce that scrubs drinks are still here for y’all 🙌

before we dive into talking about what’s happening on sunday, we’ve got (our new) regular hours for yall this week:
w-fr 9am-4pm (how’s everybody liking mornings so far???) and sat 11-4. come by and hang out with us, maybe??
!!BUT ALSO!! we’ll be opening up on sunday 3/8 11am-4pm for a bar take-over by local legends 👋🎉🙌👏
Wuz Here will be popping up and running the coffee program for the day (swipe to see their menu 🤤), of course we’ll be baking up some sunday-only treats, andddd we are so stoked to have our very own Wren of here teaching some pottery wheel basics (tickets for those 30 minute classes are linked in our bio).

Hi friends!
Lots to talk about in this post, this’ll be a long caption 😅
This weekend (fri 1/30 + sat 1/31) marks the last couple of days of our annual LOTR/BDAY menu!
We have a Hotplate menu that will be dropping tonight at 7pm for Saturday pre-orders for those who don’t feel like dealing with the potential of a long walk-in line at the beginning of the day 🫡
We’ll have regular hours Friday (11-6) and adjusted hours Saturday: 11-2 for walk-ins, soft closing at 2 to get set up for order pick-ups, then Hotplate order pick-ups will be from 2:30-4.
Saturday is also Gasparilla (👀) but the pirate shenanigans shouldn’t have any effect on traffic/parking/street closures around the shop. We never quite know what to expect (as far as how busy our shop will be) when there’s a big local event like this, but we plan to just bake a ton and hope for the best ✨
SPEAKING OF HOURS
Starting next week, as of Wednesday 2/4, we’ll be open w-fr 9am-4pm and sat 11am-4pm. It’ll be sad to see evenings go, but the past year we’ve seen a large shift into busier mornings, much quieter evenings, and lots of inquiries into earlier open times, so we’re excited to give it a go!
FRIDAY (TOMORROW)
A little bit of serious talk y’all.
It came to our attention earlier today that there are calls for a nationwide strike/ shutdown protest planned for tomorrow (Fri 1/30). I couldn’t find a lot of information on if many businesses in our community are participating, but I also didn’t want to let it go by unacknowledged.
We had a team meeting to discuss and decided that we will be staying open; the reality is we have a lot of ingredients and labor that have already gone into prep for tomorrow’s menu and ultimately we’ve got to keep our staff and bills paid. ✨HOWEVER✨ the team offered to donate their tips from Friday 1/30 (+I’ll match that donation), we’ll all chose from https://www.standwithminnesota.com
Not feeling very eloquent today tbh, so I included a few LOTR memes that have been on my mind, increasingly, and have found some small comfort in when I’ve seen shared over the past year.

IT’S OUR THIRD BIRTHDAY MONTH! 🥳 🎉 ✨
To celebrate, as always, we’re headed back to Middle Earth for our third annual LOTR inspired menu, cause who throws a better party than the Hobbits?
Swipe to see this year’s menus! Things may vary day to day and there may be lil’ substitutions/adjustments as the month progresses but of course will stay tasty and very LOTR/UK inspired 🤌
The menu will run for the duration of the month (wed 1/14 - sat 1/31) during open hours w-fr 11-6pm and sat 11-4 (or until sold out!).
We’ll see how this first week goes as far as traffic/lines/wait times, but at the moment we aren’t planning on doing a Hotplate pre-order (however if it’s getting too busy we’ll adjust accordingly for week two and three).
Street parking is plentiful along Columbus and the streets surrounding the bakery but PLEASE be courteous and cautious to not double park/block our neighbor’s driveways/box in other’s cars etc.
Keeping this short(ish) and sweet, cause there’s still a million things to prep for tomorrow, so I feel like I’m forgetting details, but oh well; THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your support and enthusiasm for our shop, baked good, coffee program, and staff these past three years. It’s wild to see how much things have changed and grown and none of it could have happened without you.

Hours update for this week:
We’ll be opening back up Friday 1/9 (originally I thought we’d be opening back up Wednesday but we need a couple extra prep days to get ready for y’all ✨).
This week we’re here for you Friday 11-6 and Sat 11-4, then will resume regular business hours next week (W-FR 11-6, SAT 11-4).
ALSO NEXT WEEK we’ll begin celebrating our 3RD (🥹‼️🥹‼️🥹) BIRTHDAY and with that comes our annual LOTR menu!

Other than this week, the rest of the month will have our current regular hours, but starting in February we’ll be switching it up a bit and shifting our hours earlier (w-fr 9-4, sat will remain 11-4), can’t wait to spend the mornings with y’all soon!

hope you’re having a lovely holiday week so far ✨ we’re back open tomorrow with a fun one-day only drinks menu and the last holiday themed bake of the year, saturday 12/27 with adjusted hours: opening an hour “late” at 12pm, and we’ll be here till 4 or sold out.
tomorrow is your last chance to come by before we close for our annual post-holiday season recovery/winter break (we open back up wednesday 1/7).
we’ll also be running a limited/featured drink menu tomorrow with some one-day-only festive themed drinks to close out the season; for tomorrow, only featured drinks will be available plus coffee standards (drip, espresso, cortado, latte, and traditional flavors-vanilla/mocha/caramel)
FEATURED DRINKS MENU:
•iced/shaken eggnog latte (homemade eggnog, of course 💁‍♀️, while supplies last)
•featured espresso is a cranberry co-ferment by and we’re recommending it as a flat white (every hot flat white comes with a sugar cookie tomorrow, while supplies last), or try it as an iced latte, lightly sweetened with house persimmon syrup + salted orange cheese foam)
•persimmon matcha latte (milk of choice, hot or iced)
•pear cider soda
•orchid oolong iced tea
•salted caramel chai latte

Did you know it’s already 12/19? Crazy how time just keeps on groovin’, isn’t it?
If you’d like to place an order to pick up 12/24, you’ve got one day left (order through our Hotplate, link is in the bio 🎉✨🎄)!
Holiday pre-orders close at noon on Saturday 12/20; If you miss the deadline but still want to come by, no worries, we’ll be making a bunch of extras for y’all.
Only a few business days left before we close up for our annual winter break (you may know the drill by now, we close late December/early January yearly for much needed rest time for staff after the holiday season + time to prep for our upcoming anniversary/annual LOTR menu 👀) so be sure to come by and stock up on treats while you can!
