Our Story
Welcome to Kate’s Bake Shop! I’m so happy you stopped by! As a little girl, I always enjoyed being in the kitchen with my mom, baking pies and cakes for holidays and parties. After graduating from nursing school, baking because a huge part of my life and I started making Christmas cookies every year for my co-workers, friends and family members. I’ll never forget the last tin of cookies I gifted to a co-worker; he took a bite of a gingerbread cookie and with eyes wide open said, “Damn, these are good! You should open a bakery.”
Well, this little comment sure did give me the hunger. No, not the kind of hunger that happens when a patient’s family member brings in hot, fresh donuts for you and the other nurses; the kind of hunger for something fulfilling, something that makes you passionate and something that makes every one of the sleepless nights, ruined cakes, burnt cookies and failed attempts all worth it. After three years of silently dreaming, planning, baking and perfecting recipes, I officially began my journey as a small business owner in December of 2017.
Kate’s Bake Shop, located in Ybor City, FL, is an in-home bakery that offers catering for weddings and events, as well as smaller-scale orders for folks who just want to get their sweet on. My goal is to open a storefront and create a space where you can see me hard at work crafting my sweets, grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a scrumptious scone. I know you'll love what KBS has to offer and that's a promise from my oven to your belly, so come on and get baked at Kate’s!
My current hours of operation vary as I still have a day job, but online orders can be placed 7 days a week, 24 hours a day! All catering inquires and orders can be submitted through the website or email at [email protected].
