With the kids heading back to school, my schedule is opening up a little more—and I’ve been busy behind the scenes working on SOME exciting things! 👀✨

Despite all the signs this week telling me I shouldn’t make bread—dropping my starter, the power going out, and a few other hiccups—I still managed to get 16 fresh loaves baked! 💪🍞

I have just 4 loaves left:

Welp original loaves will be delayed as we lost power half way through the bake and eta for power to return is not till 330pm.

Fresh sourdough is out and ready for pickup!

All of today’s fresh sourdough is officially out on the porch at 625 East St. 🥖

🥯 Possibly Everything Bagel!

As always, it’s first come, first served. Thank you all so much for the amazing support!

One quick note: If you pick up bread today, please open the bag as soon as you get it home to let the condensation escape. I had to package the loaves while they were still warm so I could get them out to you as quickly as possible.

Update; Garlic loaves are out now and jalapeño cheddar will be out shortly!

🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL! 🚨

In about 1½ hours, I’ll have 8 FRESH sourdough loaves coming straight out of the oven and headed to the porch! 🥖❤️

Today’s flavors:
🌿 4 Garlic Herb
🌶️🧀 4 Jalapeño Cheddar

I’m also working on more dough and hopefully baking 4 Cinnamon Sugar loaves later tonight. After that, I’ll be starting on my Original loaves!

As always, it’s first come, first served!
Payment is on the honor system with Venmo or the cash box on the porch. $10 a loaf!

She’s ALIVE! ❤️🍞 Mabel ( my starters name) is back!

After yesterday’s heartbreaking accident, I wasn’t sure what today would bring. But I’m so excited to say that Mabel has officially come back to life! 🎉

I won’t have quite as much bread as I had originally planned this week since I’m rebuilding my starter, but I’ll be baking like crazy Thursday, Friday, and Saturday morning to get as many fresh loaves out to you as I can!

Thank you all for your patience, encouragement, and support after my little baking disaster. It truly means so much to this small business. ❤️

Keep an eye on the page each morning—I’ll post as fresh loaves hit the porch. I can’t wait to get bread back into your hands!

Well… I’ve got some bad news from Checkered Flag & Flour. 💔

While I was baking this morning, I tripped and accidentally dropped my jar of sourdough starter. The jar shattered, and with it went the starter I’ve been using for all of your bread. 😭

That means there will be no fresh bread available today. I’m so disappointed, especially knowing so many of you were looking forward to porch bread day.

The good news is I always keep a backup starter! It’s been fed and is waking back up, so now we’re just waiting to see how it’s looking by this evening. 🤞

This is definitely a small setback, but it’s not the end. I’m hopeful that the backup starter will be strong enough, and we’ll still be able to get fresh loaves baked for you by the Fourth of July.

Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support. I’ll keep you updated as soon as I know how the backup starter is doing. ❤️
