Hello from the warm beaches of North Carolina ☀️ 🌊 🐚 I’d like one my first posts to serve as an introduction and a small glimpse into the faces behind Oh Doh! My name is Damaris and that sweet little wildflower I am holding, is Ainsley Grace 🌸 My husband is a Major in the Marine Corps, which means our adventures are like the wind — we’re never sure where we will be, but go we must! ✈️ ____________________________________________________________ I am an educator by profession and my career has taken me to wonderful places & spaces 🌎 During my time working in a classroom, moving into the role of literacy instructor, & later serving as a political appointee at the Department of Education, my love for educating our future generation was being forged & refined along every path God had paved. I am a fierce advocate for the importance of literacy in the lives of our littles ones, coupled with a strong emphasis on play. The aspect of simple play seems to be a forgotten pastime by many as we often find our littles staring into a screen, whether it be a tv, a tablet, or a smartphone. My hope for society is that it finds itself in a world where there is a reborn love for the very thing that serves as one of the most vital cognitive development tools —— simple play.
My life revolves around my faith, family, and creating. Whether I am creating new food dishes, ideas, education-based learning tools, or memories, it is there you will find the language of my heart.
Oh Doh started as a fun idea for my daughter’s first birthday party, leading to inquiries on whether I would make scented doh for purchase. And as they say in tales of old and new, the rest is history! ⭐️ My hope is that this page inspires you to view everyday simple play in the lives of children as one of the greatest joys & treasures given to us by our Creator 🖐
